Thanks Aviator, I will try it tomorrow morning.

Hallo my Dear Friends!

I think my constipation problem is over. I tried all things suggested, nothing works, not even the Smoot Move tea.

In my misery I went back to my apples. I didn't dare to have them before. But I peeled one and took some small

bites and chewed it to applesauce. It worked. Tomorrow I will have a 1/4 apple, I hope it will work again.

I used to have 1-2 apples daily before the pre-op diet, but of course now I don't have enought room in my pouch

for a whole apple.

My weight went back to 188 lbs. Maybe beause of the apple? I also cooked a handful of spinach, by the time

I cooked it, it was a 1/4 cup. Maybe the carbs in the vegetable are the reasons of my inability to lose weight.

Monday I have my 6 weeks check up, I wonder what the Surgeon will say about it.

Goodness, back to worrying about weight loss. Not even with the WLS can I loose weight!

We have been working very hard this 2-3 days, putting out all the plants, that we were nursing in our flower rooms

through the winter months. Today we had a young man from church to come to help us with the very big flower pots.

Than of course, we had to clean up the dirt from the plants. Oh well, we are done untill October, when we will have to

carry them back in again, to save them from the cold weather. These plants are going in and out  for the past 14 years.

Good night everyone, may the good Lord bless you all, and have a very happy Ester.

Happy Easter, Gabriella.

I think you are doing great - you are losing about 2 lbs per week, and that is good!

Hallo my dear Friends.

I went to see my Surgeon, actually his sister, who is also a medical doctor in his clinic.

She told me that I am doing very well. The weight loss is right on target.

She promised to presribe some new medicine for the constipation, but she did not call me yet.

She ordered a blood test. She told me to stop taking the vitamin C with Iron. Maybe the iron causes the problem.

I went to the gim, I used the seated eliptical machine for 20 minutes, walked in the pool for an hour.

Took all my medicines, the Miralax, the stool softeners. Maybe, hopefully, I will be Ok in the morning.

Good night every one.

Hallo, my dear Friends!

This morning I already knew that this day is going to be a tought one again.

But I went to the gim, did my one hour water excercise.

I went to Walmart and bought the mineral oil, a new stool softener, a new suppository.

I called my Surgeon. Got instruction on my daily regimen.

It seems, my daily occupation will consist of taking these medications on time.

In addition to eating my 60-80 gr.of protein, and drinking the 64 oz. or more of water.

Pluss going to the gim.

Somehow I will have to find some time to read.

Good night everyone, may the good Lord bless you all, and give you success on your journey.

What an inspiration you are! Keep up the great work.

For constipation I found a daily dose of Miralax and 2 stool softeners help me tremendously. I put Miralax in my water with a little crystal light or something. I have also been working to add more veggies, but it's very hard (not much room!). Lettuce/greens have been good for me because they take up very little room and have good roughage. They might be too hard for you this early though.

As far as stalls go...I promise they end. I lost 15lbs in the first month and then stalled for a whole *month*! I usually stall 1 week each month. This month I stalled another 3 weeks. However I am down 55lbs and I'm only 3.5 mo out. You're doing fantastic. Keep it up. I work out 30 min/day and thought I was going good..until I read you work out an hour a day! I gotta do more to keep up with you lady :)

Hallo, my dear Friends!

I am so grateful for all fo you! How kind you all are!

Today, I did my usual excercise, 20 minutes on the seated elliptic machine,

I hour of water exercise class, 15 minutes in the hot tub.

Somebody on an other tread mentioned mineral oil, I tried it last night, it worked like a charm.

I also took my 2 stool softeners. I pray to God, that I will never ever have to "entertain" you

with my ongoing problem.

I think that would also help me loose some weight.

Good night every one.

Hallo, My Dear Friends!

Yes, the mineral oil is working.

I did not go to the  gim on Saturday and on Sunday.

My joints were bothering me. I decided to give myself 2 days of rest.

I am going back tomorrow.

I wish I knew if I did something wrong or is it OK to eat black beans.

I made a black bean soup with smoked turkey leg, some onions and vegetables.

I fished out some beans, some pieces of turkey leg and I put a tbsp. fat free greek yogurt on it.

My pouch is not complaining, but I don't know about the beans.

Does any one know if it is OK to eat black beans 6 weeks after the WLS?

Aviator, I checked out you log today. You look really much younger than than you did 5 + years ago.

I have to figure out how to tighten my muscles a little. Of course I don't have much hope about them.

But I will try it anyhow.

Good night everyone.

Each eating plan is different, so its tough to tell what yours is. However, there are certainly worse things for you to be eating than black beans. Most puree diets include non fat refried beans, which are basically smushed up beans.

Thank you Gabriella -

I certainly feel younger now.  In about 4 weeks get the trainer to start you doing strength training.  I think 6 weeks is too early yet.

And I think the black beans are fine.

Hallo, my dear Friends!

Monday I tried to do some chair yoga, but my backside is to painful to sit.

I was taking 1 tbs of mineral oil for days and it worked just fine.

But I thought that if 1 tbs is good, 2 will be better. Well, that was too much. not a good idea.

So I went and did the excercise class in the pool.

Today we had an arthritis class which is also done sitting down

( I took my special pillow just in case, but I did not need it)

this is a very vigorous excercise, with weight lifting.

So I was pretty used up after it. Tomorrow back to the pool.

Today I had no apetite. I left half of my breakfast, covered on the table thinking

that I will finish it when I come home. I couldn't eat it than either.

My husband made some chicken legs for diner. I took out a piece, and ate 1/3 of it.

But later in the evening I finished it with some salsa.

My pouch is crazy. It just doesn't want to accept the 3 ozs of protein at once.

I am supposed to eat 3x a day and consume 60 gr of protein.

Well, that is imposible if all can eat at one sitting is 1-2 oz of protein.

Good night every one

You need the protein Gabriella and you will need to supplement.

Look at Fage 2% Greek yogurt.  It is high protein.  Buy some whey protein isolate to mix in.  I also use one packet of Stevia sweetener.  Also you can put the soaked chia seed in this mix too.

I like the syntax flavors.  I suggest getting a sample pack and see which ones you like.

Thank you Aviator!

I will make the Greek yogurt Mixture with the Chia seed.(they are soaking already)

Some time ago you recomended The Greek yogurt mixed with some fruit flavored yogurt,

I went a got strabery flavored whey, it was pretty good.

Right now I have the Bariatric Advantage Orange Cream Flavored whey

I will try it, see what it tastes like with with the Stevia.

Thanks for your help.

Try Dannon light and fit Greek yogurt with the chia seeds and some unflavored protein powder for an extra boost.

Make sure it is the Dannon Greek light and fit not the regular Dannon light and fit. The Greek version has much more protein and fewer carbs.

Good luck

Thanks Cathy for the good advice. I am using the Fage Total 0%.

I will try the Danon Greek Light. I am also using the chia seed.

Yesterday Friday I went to the Gim in the morning, but when I came home

I was sure that I was going to die from the constipation pain.

But after 5 hours of miserable suffering I managed to get relief.

This morning I made a chicken soup with onions, celery, carrots, cauliflower.

I ate quite a bit of the vegetables and some chicken meat.

That cleared me out. I have a feeling that my body is unhappy with all that

protein, it wants to have some vegetables. I will eat the same thing tomorrow

and if it keeps me regular, than I just have to change my diet. Eat

a little less protein and some more vegetables. Maybe that is the problem.

Goodnight every one.

My dear Friends!

I did not post anything for a while, because there is nothing new.

I am frustrated with the slow weight loss. I am 183 lbs now. That is

only 17 lbs since the surgery on March 10.

32 lbs total since I first weighed in last summer.

I increased my vegetable consumption because of the constipation problem.

Finaly one of my doctors told me to take milk of magnesia every night.

It seems to work.

I go to the gim almost every day.

I eat my protein, I don't eat starches.

My primary care doctor is happy with my weight loss.

She thinks that this way my skin has a better chance to shrink some what.

Oh well, one day at a time, little by little.

Good night every one.

My dear TT friends!

After rejoicing about the Milk of Magnesia, came an other trip to the ER.

Horrible procedure! So painful, I was thinking to ask the Doctor to put me out of  my misery.

The Doctor prescribed Lactulose I was to take it 2x a day for 10 days.

When my husband and I came home from the ER my daughter Gloria was complaining

that she tried a new cereal, Fiber One, and it gave her diarrhea.

So I thought, let me try that thing. It has in a half a cup 60 cal. 14 gr fiber, 0 sugar 25 gr carbs (25-14= 11 net carbs)

I works like a charm. I waited a week, to report my discovery, because I was a fraid to say anything,

after all my success stories, that all failed in 3 days.

I was reading Aviator's advise to Fred about the Atkins Diet.

In the 1970 s I read Dr Atkin's book. Also went to his office on East 66 th Street in Manhattan.

It did not look like a Dr's office, but a museum, with all those paintings on the walls.

Well, back in those days, there were no carbs allowed, and I was not able to follow the program.

I had the most intolabre desire to eat some vegetables.

Getting back to the present time, I decided to read a new addition of the New Atkin's Diet.

And in the first phase there are some green vegetables allowed, and just like Aviator said to

Fred they allow 20 grs of carbs in the form of green vegetables.

So I tried it, and in the past 3 days I lost 2 lbs. Can't tell you how I hated to see those 183-184 lbs, for a month

on that scale.

On June 9th I have to go to see my Surgeon, and I was dreading that day.

But now I will be able to show a couple lbs. lost.

I still have 13 days until the 9th of June. Maybe I will loose some more.

I think my apples caused my lack of weight lose. But now I just eat my Fiber One, and no apples are needed.

Good night everybody

Gabriella
