There has been my step mom's left over birthday cake and some donuts sitting in my work's break room all week and I have not had one thought or desire to eat it!!

I just finished a program at my surgeons office and at the end, everyone gets a shirt that says " I survived Strive!" Well I got an XL thinking it will be a "motivating" shirt. Needless to say, IT FITS NOW!!!! I am almost out of X's in my size. I can't even remember the last time I was an xl. Maybe when I was born?

Who knows.... but I'm excited! I'm also the lowest I ever remember being. Probably since middle school, like 7th grade, but that is a scale victory... oops!

Awesome :) I'm in xl too right now, and every time I see the size on my tag, I smile. A big fat corny smile. No more 3x for us!!

I know!!! I was just talking about this with a co-worker today. Last year most 2x and 3x's were so tight I could barely breathe. My mother in law buys family tee's for Christmas and last year she bought me a 3x. It was so tight, my hubby said, "Really that's a 3x? It doesn't fit you at all!"  This year she bought a medium! Crazy talk!!

This year I wear medium and larges. The size large are getting big! It's crazy!

I guess this is sort of an NSV. I have noticed that the last few times I have eaten out, waiters/waitresses do not get all excited when I don't eat everything. When I first started losing weight (and was still very large), they always worried that something was not good, not cooked to order, not what I wanted, etc. when I only ate a little bit. I felt like they thought that an overweight person should "clean their plate".

Now, they just ask if I would like a to-go container. No stress on their part. And none on mine having to reassure them. Is this what "normal" people do? Do they routinely not eat all of their food?

I don't know when the change occurred. I have just begun noticing it, though. Interesting!

too big?

Unless they're too small because of major muscle development and the thing that Aviator talked about a while back about the opposite of shrinkage when men lose weight  :P

I know--now that I'm just a tiny little thing nobody bats an eye when I leave most of my food on a plate. In fact, they seem to expect it. I think that is how most normally skinny people eat. Who knew?

This is so me. I move so out of the way. I still do not realize that I do not take up that much space anymore. I was frustrated once because I asked a person to move and he only slightly moved. I was like...Really, I cannot fit in that little spot that he left me....However I started to walk through and fit perfectly with room to spare. Silly brain!

Yesterday, while shopping, a bigger woman, about the size I previously was, was also shopping in the areas I was shopping. Unfortunately, with her and her cart, she was often times taking up almost the entire area or aisle. Most times I just went around her, however a few times I said "Excuse us(my kids and I) could we get by you." She was rude and looked put out. I guess as a big woman I always made sure I took up as little space as possible. This woman not so much and was terribly upset at being asked to move. UGH!

My mom and I were just talking about something similar. We were both talking about going to the grocery store and being able to fit between the cart and the checkout without havnig to pull the cart out of the checkout line to get in front of (or behind) it. I can just slide through now! Who knew people could actually do that!!

I went into a resale shop yesterday, and found myself disappointed that I couldn't fit into a very fitted dress in a size 10. Ha! It was only disappointing because it was so darn cute. I have been consistently in size 10 jeans since fall, but my wider back and shoulders keep me in at least a size 12 for stuff that is fitted on top.

To some, this may sound like a non-victory, but it's a huge mental win for me. For me to EXPECT to fit into a size 10 is evidence of a huge mind shift.

I'm really just amused, as if anyone had ever even suggested that I could wear a size 10 in the past, I would have thought them to be off their rocker.

Taught myself how to knit today. Not weight loss related but a victory nonetheless :)

Two ladies at work just stopped me and said "girl you have to get rid of those jeans." I was shocked lol. I know they're baggy but apparently I look like an idiot today, enough for them to say something to me.

It's a shame cause I really like the jeans :) but I guess they're right...it's time for these 18's to hit the donation pile...

Ya, I love that I can get in and out of car without fear of my car door hitting or scraping someone else's car. It's crazy to realize all the things I had to constantly worry about!

I arrived at a local high school to do a workshop today and the teacher came down to meet me.  As she was escorting me to the classroom, she asked if I would prefer to take the elevator or use the stairs.  I chose the stairs, not knowing that we were going up 6 flights of stairs!!  Before WLS, I would never have offered to take the stairs and even if I had tried, I would have been completely winded and breathing hard.  Not this time!  Yay!!

One of my coworkers shyly asks me "Have you been losing weight?"

And I said yes, thank you for the compliment

and she says "No problem, but you've always been beautiful!"

I also went into a store to break change really quickly, and the guy ringing me up explained that I would be taking all of his singles. I just laughed and said sorry, and then he said "but its okay for a pretty girl" ^_^

Weird how so many people change after a 78 pound weight loss lol. And I still have more to go!

My parents were over for dinner the other day and was apparently staring at me from behind as I cooked cause after dinner she said rather randomly "you know, I noticed when you were standing there doing stuff you could see inbetween your legs".    LOL, sounds rather odd putting it that way but yes.... I actually do have two legs with space inbetween them for daylight.
