tummy tuck all at once or after weight loss plateau

Recommended Posts

SHOULD YOU GET YOUR TUMMY TUCK ALL AT ONCE OR SHOULD YOU HAVE SKIN REMOVED AT DIFFERENT POINTS IN TIME DUE TO SO MUCH SKIN REMOVAL. I'VE LOST 90 LBS WHEN SHOULD I START SEEKING A PLASTIC SURGEON? AND CAN YOU ALSO HAVE A BREAST REDUCTION AT THE SAME TIME OR OTHER PROCEDURES LIKE INNER THIGHS, ARMS & EXTRA NECK SKIN? THANK YOU CHERYL

Hello TyMackster,

Thanks for your question.

I recommend you wait until your weight loss has reached a plateau before you consult with a plastic surgeon.

This usually takes 12 to 18 months following your bypass surgery.

Once your weight is stable, you can consider plastic surgery.

There are a lot of different areas that can be reconstructed after massive weight loss.

These include the face, neck, breasts, chest, back, arms, thighs, buttock and abdomen.

Procedures on separate areas can be combined together provided this is done safely.

Another member posted a question similar to yours a couple of months ago, and I think my answer would also apply to you.

Please refer to for more details.

Thanks again for your question.

Sincerely,

Abhay Gupta, MD, FACS.
