What is this bump???

Does a bump along my incision line have to be a hernia?

When I do a crunch an alien peeks out about the size of a golf ball. It feels squishy, but firm.

I am avoiding seeing Dr, cause I do not want it to be a hernia. (no more carving!!)

Does any one know if this can be something else? Maybe something that does not require surgery. :o

Sorry to "rain" on your parade sweetie but it sure sound like what mine did. Fortunately mine was the size of a small football which was good. According to Kelly it is the small ones that can cause the most problems. Check in with them sweetie, it will put your mind to rest. Big hugs coming your way.

Thanks Guys,

You really made my day??? :o

I called Dr. Callery's office, they said to make appt. w/ Primary Dr.???

Seems strange. Is that what you all had to do??

What happens if I don't get it fixed??

Yeah, I had to go through my primary and still after 2 repairs...am trying to get it right. I have a STAT referral in today for a revision. It is really getting old now.

I hope you don't have to go through all of this, but make sure you get an appointment with your pcp...your pcp will be able to determine whether or not you need to see a specialist and if you need to repair it or not.

I had a small bump along a couple my incision lines (about the size of a pea), I initially assumed it was scar tissue, and later after a routine Doctor's visit at Callery's office, Kelly confirmed my assumption. That was approx. 2-3 weeks post op. They've seemed to have disappeared now.

Anyway, I hope yours isn't serious. Make sure you take care of it.

My mom had one that she recently had repaired. Depending on the size and location, the little alien that pops out can actually become strangulated and begin to die from lack of blood supply. If it's intestinal, then it's not a good thing. My mom's primary told her that it could actually be life threatening. However, my mom's surgery was about 20 years ago, if this helps anything.

I had the same thing happen to me. I was doing cruches at the gym and all of a sudden this "alien" poped out. I looked at it and thought that aint right. I saw the Dr. he said it could wait until I am done losing weight, which I hope is soon.

DAVEY!!!

Hey dude!! You are doing so great!!!

I really do not hate you for being a guy and losing so fast!! Really!!!

I tried to see your pics, but they didn't come up????

Anyway, I hope I get the same response as you, that way I can wait and decide if I want a tummy tuck or not. I feel like I really do not want another surgery, but if the alien has to go than I might want to get a bit of a tuck. Fortunately, I have been working out a lot and do not have a lot of skin to contend with. After another 30 pounds I may change my mind???

Good to see you hope to see you in person soon. We are almost pod mates ya know!!
