feeling yucky

Recommended Posts

For over a week now my stomach has been feeling yucky.  As soon as I had fluids this morning it started.  It kinda feels like a sour stomach and I am tired of feeling blah.  I have a Dr appointment this afternoon for that and the headaches I have been waking up with.  Any ideas on what it could be?  I looked up ulcers but I don't think that could be it because I am not in horrible pain

Went to Dr. today having my poop checked for H pylori infection.  Problem is I have not gone yet ugh.  Hope tomorrow things will move as I am so tired and feel awful.  If that is not it having an EDG done.

I don't have H pylori so I have been scheduled for EDG.

Omg Tracy...severe constipation can cause horrible problems. It causes a huge lack of energy, nausea, vomiting, lack of appetite, and a whole host of other problems. A simple X-ray can show severe constipation. I’m so sorry you are feeling I’ll, and I hope you can find an answer soon! ❤️

I’m so glad to hear that you’re feeling a little better at least :) But it’s VERY frustrating when these things happen and it takes forever to find the cause. Praying they do soon, my friend!

Had my EGD done today and it turns out I have ulcers !!   They have upped my Dexilant back up to 60 mg and I have to go back in 2 weeks for another EGD.  If any of you have tips on what I should and should not eat or drink I would appreciate it .  I have not spoke to my Dr. yet, but will be reaching out to her.

I'm sorry to hear about ulcers Tracy but at least you know what the problem is.

I haven't had to deal with ulcers but a WLS buddy has and this gives a list from this website of what to eat and what to avoid:  https://www.webmd.com/digestive-disorders/ss/slideshow-stomach-ulcers-best-worst-foods

Eat:  yogurt, miso, kimchi, sauerkraut, kombucha, and tempeh are rich in “good” bacteria called probiotics. They may help ulcers by fighting an H. pylori infection or by helping treatments work better.  Apples, pears, oatmeal, and other foods that are high in fiber are good for ulcers in two ways. Fiber can lower the amount of acid in your stomach while easing bloating and pain.  Sweet potato, red bell pepper.

Drop the milk - it used to be thought to be a good thing but apparently, it can cause your stomach/pouch to produce more acid.  And keep to a low fat diet.

According to a review from 2014, probiotics cannot kill H. pylori bacteria. However, they may reduce the amount of bacteria present, speed up the healing process, and improve some symptoms.

There's more to it so read the link .... I hope you feel better soon.

Ugh, ulcers!! I’m so sorry to hear that!! I’m glad you have some answers, but that’s definitely not a quick fix problem.

I second Cinwa’s suggestions for foods to eat. I truly hope you can start feeling better soon!

@cinwa @Nana Trish Thank you, I am having another EGD done in 2 weeks.  We will see if the 60 mg  of my PPI does the job.

Good God, @tracyringo...I hope the PPI is working! I’ve been on 40mg of omeprazole since surgery, 2 1/2 years ago, for different reasons...but it’s working. Thinking of you, always ❤️
