I'm almost 5 years out. Can we take diuretics?

I see you are a sleeve patient. I took water pills once or twice a month for the first 10 months after my surgery.  So I would say yes?  I do not take them now because I don't have the swelling as much anymore since I lost the weight and I need to fluids for other problems I have not related to this surgery .

Lots of people take them for hypertension, not just for swelling. Having your stomach re-routed doesn't change that...

Prescription diuretics should cause no problems with your sleeve, in terms of the physiology of oral absorption/metabolism.  However, you will really have to be careful with dehydration and with electrolyte imbalance.  I wouldn't waste my time on anything OTC though if that's what you're thinking about.
