Oh Yeah! One Bar Maple Doughnut

Recommended Posts

Thanks @Kio and @Jen581791 - I don't have the foggiest idea whether sugar alcohols affect my blood sugar, and I'm doing alright with keeping my total carbs low, so I think I'm going to keep on keeping on. Good to think about for the future, though! I really appreciate the context.

I guess I would also add that it's important to me to eat both ketogenically and sustainably - and if I were counting every fiber gram against myself, I'd probably lose my mind.  "I need fiber... but I shouldn't have fiber!  But I NEED FIBER!"  So net carbs kind of helps me avoid that endless loop in my brain.  :)

Exactly. I think it's a good way to prevent my crazy diet-brain from thinking things like this. I DO need fiber, and I don't want to avoid fiber because it's carbs. Which my crazy diet brain would have me do if I were counting it.

Leftover behavior from the good old Atkins days, I think?

Exactly the case for me, too. I've done Atkins for so many years, I know how well counting net carbs works. Fiber and sugar alcohols don't impact my blood sugar like other carbs do.

I know this is an old thread but count me among the converted to the One bar. These bars came up in conversation a few weeks ago and I decided to try one out. I don’t like Quest bars, so I wasn’t expecting much. ZOMG! They are so tasty! I’m not a fan of processed foods but these days I’m constantly running around town with K and I don’t always have time to make the best WLS meals. I put a few of these in my diaper bag and they are a gift.

I like the Almond Bliss One bar. It tastes like a freaking Almond Joy! I can only eat a half of one at most, but dang it's so yummy!

I like these better than Quest bars too. Not a fan of Quest.

My favorites are Peanut Butter Pie, Brownie, Almond Bliss and Maple Glazed.

Has anyone tried making "cookies" out of these like people do with Quest bars?

Quest bars all taste awfully sweet to me. The OhYeah Ones are not that bad but I prefer plant proteins. I currently try to remember if I microwaved only Quest bars in an attempt to make the ones I still had taste better or if that were the OhYeah bars.

My favorites are still the CLIF bars and the D's Natural No-Cow bars.

I'm another one who prefers One Bars over OhYeah! (I find those dense and heavy).

I don't eat them too often but I learnt years ago never to leave home without something in my bag and One Bars are ideal for that.

I brought about 100 one bars back to Oman from the USA a few weeks ago... a considerable portion of my luggage allowance!

Lemon cake, peanut butter pie, maple donut, birthday cake, cinnamon roll <— soooo good, almond bliss... so convenient for when I’m out of the house and reasonable food is not available. I’m on holiday now, and I’ve brought enough for two a day if I need them.
