I am 60 years old and anticipating RNY in about 2 weeks. I'm sure there are others who underwent surgery at this age, and I'm wondering if you experienced any particular challenges due to your age? I'd be most appreciative if you'd share your experience with me as I count down the days. I am single, so much of this journey will be alone, so any insight or encouragement would be most helpful.

I was in my early 50's when I had my RNY but I can truthfully tell you that any challenges my age may have presented were nothing compared to the misery of carrying around what was effectively double the normal weight I should have been for my height.

Surgery and recovery went well for me.  If I had to do it again tomorrow, I'd be there in a shot.

I had the sleeve at 62 and did not have any effects from my age that I noticed.  Tired for a few days but up and walking which is pretty typical for any major surgery.

You should be fine.
