Time off expected for heavy lifting jobs.

Recommended Posts

Hi there I was wondering if anyone works in the medical field and does patient care? how long were you out of work? I do 12 hours shifts and do alot of heavy lifting, pulling , and pushing. I am covered at work for 6 weeks off but I am worried about the energy levels and risk associated with the work load.

Thank you

I'm interested in this answer as well for my husband.

My job has a lifting requirement of 70lb.  I couldn't return until 6 weeks and was signed off by surgeon.

But I had an umbilical hernial repaired at the same time as my WLS and that may have been why the surgeon was being cautious too.
