  1. Hi there Harrahgirl, I just got some of the flavorless protein powder to try making a smoothie with. Somehow it never occurred to me to mix it in my drinks. So, that will be the test for today. I did manage to find an additive for my water that my pouch didn’t automatically reject. This has been such a learning experience since I had the bypass.
  2. Hi Cinwa, thank you for the suggestions and the links. I really appreciate it.
  3. Do the shakes have dairy in them? One thing I have noticed is that I can no longer tolerate dairy of any kind. It has been making it difficult to find protein shakes that I can drink like I did prior to surgery.
  4. I am 4 months post-op and am having many issues with fluid intake. Water burns and hurts my pouch. I have tried additives and none that I have tried so far agrees with me. I did try the changing my water to the higher p.h. and it was a tiny less painful than normal water. My next trial will be adding a couple of lemon wedges to see if I can get a bit more fluids in me. I never realized how many people had issues with water post-op.
  5. I am a young granny that had gained over 100 lbs in the last 8 years following a life changing spinal surgery that disabled me. Needless to say, I was pretty desperate to get the weight off to see if that would help the pain issues. I am now 4 months post Roux-en y and having a few issues. I cannot tolerate plain water, which I normally love and am chronically dehydrated. I can no longer tolerate dairy or protein shakes, which makes getting enough protein in and finally, I am literally never hungry and am having a hard time even getting in 400 Kcal’s a day. I would love any suggestions!!!
