  1. My doctor has encouraged me to keep a consistent weight loss journal. I'm able to for a month or so, but tracking gets so tedious! Do you maintain one? Have you found other ways to keep track?
  2. I just read that gastric bypass can alter the hunger hormone composition in your body, which is really interesting. Apparently, after surgery, you're hormones will allow you to avoid crazy hunger pangs. Have you found this to be true in your experience? Did it fade with time and go back to how it used to be?
  3. Such an important message for those in the early stages of considering surgery. My Doctor was really good at explaining this to me. I also spoke with some of his past patients for mentoring before committing to the procedure. Surgery is a fantastic catalyst and motivator, but it's not a magic pill. It CAN jumpstart a change in your life, but at the end of the day, it's you who changes your life. And that's a lot more empowering when you think about it.
  4. Wow, I didn't know there were such drastically different opinions on the lap band! My best friend got the procedure in 2016 and had a lot of benefits from lap band surgery. Like with everything, each person will have their own reaction to the procedure. I'm so happy for those of you who have had success!
  5. I've recently read a lot of stories about complications occurring after surgery in Mexico. However, I have also read on here about many positive experiences from those who have opted to go to Mexico. I want to know from someone who shopped around in both Mexico and the US what notable differences they saw, if any. Did you ask about qualifications? Were you warned about the CDC bacteria? Thanks in advance for your insights.
  6. For my sister, it was only bad for about 3 months. After 6, she was back to normal. I heard you can combat hair loss, at least partially, with certain supplements.
  7. I recently came across this article on the emotional changes that follow surgery. They were a lot more complicated than I would have expected! I was curious what your most significant emotional change was after surgery. Did it surprise you? Did people react to you in ways you didn't anticipate?
