  1. happy to hear all is well with your baby :) I still dream of my own kids some day.. just dont know if now is the time for me.. been struggeling.. got to my goal.. lost the weight but not feeling that happy with myself

  2. Hey girl! Long time no speak! I have really been MIA for a while now. Baby girl was born May 2011 and she just turned 10 months old. I am so in love with her that words just can describe. Everything else is great besides the fact that I am having a hard time getting back to my pre-pregnancy weight. So I have come back here for some inspiration. How are you?

  3. From someone that tried for 7 years before having weight loss surgery, it can happen. DH and I tried all the fertility treatment to no avail. One year to the day that i had had surgery i found out i was pregnant. we weren't trying but weren't preventing. We went to sicily for 3 weeks in the summer so we kind of blocked everything out and just went with the flow and having fun.
  4. Thanks girls for the replies. They mean so much! I haven't spoken to my ob-gyn yet. My appointment is next week. I had the scan done at the hospital where I had my 12 week scan. At the 12 week scan I was measuring 3 days ahead so they changed my date but when I went to see my ob, he said not to pay any mind to that and just stick with his dates. His calculations and the hospital's calculations are about 4 days apart. The hospital gave me a due date of may 24 and my dr's is may 28th. I just don't know what to think. Hopefully when I go back in 3 weeks they will be able to see and tell me more. To be honest, dh and I weren't really happy with the technician that we had this time. She was so quick with everything and didn't explain anything. I had to keep asking her what we were looking at and she seemed so annoyed that I basically stopped asking. I hope next time we have someone more helpful.
  5. thankyou so much for letting me know how things are going for you. I am so excited for you. I hope i will be able to have kids like you are doing a few years from now. Thankou again for sharing it all with me *hugs

  6. I just got back from the sono and the tech said that she is 99% sure that its a GIRL!! I am soooo shocked that I almost fell off the bed. I have been having such strong feelings since day one that its a boy. On a side note, I have to go back in 3 weeks because they couldn't see the heart because the baby was upside dow...n but we did get to hear it. They also said that the baby is measuring about 1 week behind and I am freaking out about it. Has anyone every experienced that and then have the baby catch up? I know I have heard the women who have had WLS go on to have smaller babies than women without WLS.
  7. Krista - 10 pounds in 10 days does seem like a lot but I do think its definately water weight. I am 20 weeks today and I had originally lost 8 pounds but I think I have put 4 back.
  8. Hi Xenia, I have been MIA for a while. Christmas and New Years was great! How about yours? The pregnancy is going great. We just had our 20 weeks scan yesterday and the tech said that she is 99% sure its a GIRL! I was a little shocked because I was feeling and thinking boy this whole time. I am thrilled though because deep down inside, I think I really wanted a girl. How are you doing?

  9. How is the pregnancy going? I havent heard from you in a while!! I wanted to wish you a very merry Christmas to you and your family!

  10. I am so so happy for you! Thankyou for sharing with me :) I got a little teary eyed reading how you found out u were pregnant.. I want kids so bad and i hope some day it will happen the same way for me. I am so happy for you, your husband and your baby. You will be a great mom and that child will be lucky to have you both as parents because you wanted and waiting for him/her so long that it will get a lot of love from you both :) I would love to hear more from you about how your pregnancy goes and your experiences :) Big congratulations to you both again!

  11. Xenia - Thank you so much for your wonderful message the you left me. A little background... We tried for 7 years and did all the fertility treatments that you can possibly think of to no avail. Then this summer DH and I decided to visit some family in Sicily. We weren't trying per se but we wanted it to happen. Once we came back to the States, I was a couple of days late on my period (ever since I had wls, my periods were like clock work month after month) and I actually thought that it was all the stress from the 9 hour flight. I finally gave in and tested that evening and I saw the faintest of faintest lines and I just couldn't believe my eyes. I took 5 tests for 5 days straight just to make sure I wasn't seeing things. Even when the doctor confirmed it, we still couldn't believe it. So I wish you all the luck in the world! Let me know if you need anything.

  12. Rosie - big congratulations on your pregnancy! reading your post made me feel happy and full of joy because my husband and i have been trying for a baby for about 5 years too and no success.. it was the fertility clinic that suggested i have gastric bypass before i even go ahead with fertility treatments. I am so happy for you that you lost all your weight and that now you are having a baby. I wish you a very smooth pregnancy and a super healthy baby :)Congratulations!

  13. I am going tomorrow for a 1 hour glucose test. I don't dump but I am not sure how fast I can drink.
  14. Congrats! I am 13 months out and recently found out that I am expect too. We tried for 7 years.
