  1. Thanks for sharing and good luck to you! I know that you can do it!
  2. Yes, I took a walk this morning and will take another on my lunch break. I was wondering more about the gym and weight training. Congrats on your weight loss, how much did you lose?
  3. Hey guys, I was just wondering, in your experiences, how long post op did you start to experience a slow down from the rapid weight loss period after surgery? My Dr. said that I would lose most of my weight within the first year, and I have a pretty large amount of pounds to go (150), SO, I'm just wondering when I can expect the slowdown, to make the most out of this experience and optimize the time when the weight is coming off quickly! My surgery date was 09/18, so I'm about 4 weeks post op. I had complications, and had a second emergency surgery on 10/07. Doc says I can start rigorous exercise 6-8 weeks from the original surgery date. Six weeks out would be 10/30, although I am eager to start sooner. Any thoughts? THANK YOU!
  4. @Madhouse HeidiThat is a great positive outlook! How long post-op did your weight loss begin to slow down? Also, great work, @tracyringo
  5. I LOVE IT! Buying a tape measurer tonight
  6. And yes, hopefully my spouse will come around.
  7. I'm not sure what you do for work or if you pack your lunches, but I found these awesome little Tupperware containers, that are basically "bite sized" and perfect for the size meals that we would need to pack... I found them at the DOLLAR TREE! Ten in a pack for $1!!! I get super excited over a good bargain, lol
  8. @BurgundyBoy, thank you, that is a great tip!!
  9. I just had my surgery on 09/18, and I would be interested in having an accountability partner, and source of support. I receive little to no support at home, which is a major bummer. My spouse did not support my decision to have surgery, but I did it anyways, because it has been a goal of mine since before we even met, let alone married. Now I am finally on the way to achieving my weight loss dreams, and I could use all of the support I can get! When is your date?
  10. I am truly amazed that the time has come, where I have successfully undergone gastric bypass! (RNY). I have been trying to achieve this for 7 years, and due to one reason or another (usually insurance), I was unable to get through the pre-op qualifications. My operation took place on 09/18/18 and I have already lost about 40 pounds. I am so excited that this journey is finally beginning, and even more excited for my life to change for the better. What I look forward to the most is being able to participate in all types of different sports and outdoor activities. Not to mention, I have a 2 and a half year old at home that I need to be able to keep up with. I just want physical freedom, and now that this surgery has taken place, I am well on my way to experiencing it. I'm. So. HAPPY!
