  2. I sure hope you feel as great as you look!! Way to go!! Congratulations!!
  3. I already have very thin, fine hair so I am concerned about when it starts to come out
  4. Wow! You look fantastic! Congratulations!!❤️
  5. Looks like your surgeon did a fantastic job. So did you! Congratulations!!
  6. Congratulations! That is absolutely wonderful news! You should be so proud of yourself!
  7. Hi @CheeringCJ I would love to have the recipe for your “crack slaw” please
  8. You’re exactly right! A cystoscope isn’t very pleasant. I had one years ago. I hope you’re feeling ok and have a peaceful and restful night
  9. Hi! Welcome to an awesome forum! I had VSG on June 18th. I got so much advice and information here several months before my surgery and love checking in every day. If I ever have questions or wonder if others are going through something similar, all I have to do is check in here. You are sure to get lots of help from the kindest and most supportive folks!! Congratulations on your upcoming surgery! I couldn’t be happier that I had surgery!!
  10. Yes I keep a journal and take measurements!
  11. It is an awesome feeling!!!
  12. Thanks! Seems I lost more pre surgery than I have post surgery. I’m keeping my chin up because I can feel the weight coming off even if it is slow. I’ll take that!
  13. Oh I’m so glad to know I’m not alone in this! I was sleeved on 6/18 and my weight loss has seemed slow too! Ive only lost 16 lbs since surgery. However, my clothes are really feeling loose. I decided instead of weighing often I would take measurements instead. Wow! I can really tell a difference. Plus my doctor has taken me off my diabetes meds, cholesterol med and blood pressure med! I felt the same as you when I looked at how some people lost SO much in the first month after surgery. I figure as long as I’m getting my protein and water in, the scale will eventually start moving again. I know I should be exercising more but for now all I’m doing is my daily walk. Let’s try not to compare ourselves too much to the lucky folks who lose 30 lbs in the first month! We’ll just keep up the good work and the weight will have to drop off.
  14. Thanks! When I feel like the scale is moving too slow sometimes I just focus on the fact that I don’t have to take all those meds!
  15. Even though I’ve been in a weight loss stall for almost 3 weeks I am thrilled that my doctor has taken me off all of those meds! After reading about the dreaded 3 week stall I know the weight will start dropping again soon. In the meantime my clothes are getting WAY loose!!

I’m so happy to say that I am now off all diabetes meds, high blood pressure meds and cholesterol med!!! I am so very happy! I was sleeved on June 18th
  17. I’m sorry your MIL blabbed and isn’t the trusted person you hoped she would be. I’ve been in the same situation and it infuriated me too! You are a beautiful person and please don’t let anyone dampen your fantastic success! As I’ve said before, the older I get, the less I care about what others think of me. I’ve found out that the things people say about me really says more about the kind of person they really are. Your new grand baby is absolutely adorable❤️
  18. Wow! You are killing it! You look beautiful! A mud bath sounds like so much fun! At a little over 4 weeks out from having my surgery I must tell you that reading your posts, along with everyone else, I’m am totally inspired!! I yearn for the day when I won’t feel self conscious in a swim suit in public. One day at a time, right? I hope your trip home goes well. Although I haven’t lost a lot of weight yet I have noticed some people in my family, who know about my surgery, have made comments about wondering why I had weight loss surgery. At first I didn’t want anyone to know about my surgery but now I don’t care so much. As I get older I care less about what others think. I try to do what’s best for me and my health. I hope some day to have grandchildren and if I continued to weigh 273 lbs I know I couldn’t be an active grandmother. Happy belated birthday!!!
  19. I love hearing you all talking about being at or near goal! It is so encouraging to me even though I have quite a way to go! I can’t wait till I’m where you are!!!
  20. I just had VSG 3 weeks ago. I had no complications at all. Like everyone else said, take advantage of all of the information the kind people here share. It has helped me immensely! Everyone has been so kind and helpful. The reasons I had surgery is because at 57 y/o I was tired of not being able to go up and down the stairs without huffing and puffing, wondering if seats would be comfortable and large enough, taking diabetes meds, blood pressure meds and cholesterol meds. At only 3 weeks post surgery I am already off several meds!! Hooray! I want to be able to play with my grandchildren (when I have some). I don’t want to sweat so much that it’s embarrassing. And I just want to feel comfortable with my body. I know weight loss won’t get my youth back but I sure hope it will add a spring in my step! I wish you all the best!! You are a beautiful young lady! This is the best forum I’ve found and I bet you’ll feel the same after spending some time browsing around.
