  1. This is probably too much information, but since rny gastric bypass in April, I only have a bowl movement once a week. I know this is pretty normal, that is not really my concern. My concern is recently I had a bowel movement, when I got up to flush I noticed there were some solid pieces of food in my bowel movement. I just recently introduced solid food to my diet. I ate broccoli and that was what was solid. I do chew my food well so I am concerned that there was solid food. Any thoughts? Should I be concerned that a solid peice of broccoli was able to go through my stoma?
  2. So you don't think I could have stretched my pouch? Also if I ate that much should I feel full longer?

    Too Much?

Hey all, I am five weeks out post-op rny gastric bypass. I am currently on soft foods. I am handling things really well and can normally handle about 2 ounces of food at a time. Yesterday I was at a party, and in the process of cooking and socializing I noticed I ate a lot of shrimp. I brought one of those mini shrimp cocktail rings with me. The shrimp were really small but I believe it was a total of 8 ounces of shrimp. I finished it before I realized it. I was not uncomfortable or over full after, but I am concerned because this is a lot compared to the two ounces I normally consume. I know the shrimp were really soft so I didn't have to chew too much and they went down easy. Should I be concerned?
  4. Hello all, I had RNY on 4/24/2017, so I'm about 2 or 3 weeks out. I was wondering how much liquid can u all have in one sitting. I notice I have no issue taking 8 or 12 ounces of soup broth in one sitting. By sitting I mean 20 to 30 minutes. I know they say liquid goes right through your stoma/ pouch, is this the same with broth. I am aloud like ricotta cheese and eggs, but my stomach can not tolerate them, so I have been sticking to broth, water and sometimes yougurt.
  5. Hello all, I had RNY on 4/24/2017, so I'm about 2 or 3 weeks out. Tonight I accidently took too large or a bite or just didn't chew well enough. I felt the bite stuck in my chest which caused severe pain. I was able to drink fluids and slightly tap on my chest which helped. My question is can the stretch my stoms or pouch since I am very early post-op? Can one incident like this stretch stoma or pouch?
