  1. I have health coverage through HealthSmart and they cover weight loss surgery under medical necessity. They require a 6 month supervised diet. My diet won't "start" until my first dietician appt on Sept. 2. So that means I would have my surgery March/April. I am curious on how this work for the deductible and yearly out-of-pocket expensive. Should I wait and try to do all my pre-op thing in 2017 so it goes towards my deductible then or? Of course, I plan on talking to the financial/insurance person during my appt in Sept but was curious for other people's experiences.
  2. Teehee I almost went to your surgeon funny enough! He used to be fat before I met him and he lost the weight but he can keep it off? He can eat a triple cheeseburger and a whole carton of ice cream and still be thin.. He doesn't get that I can't do that. I can't just lose the weight and it will just stay off and I can do whatever I want again.
  3. Hello! I need some opinions or advice. I have a boyfriend of almost 3 years who I love dearly. I met him the one time of my life I was "thin" because of weight loss pills. I had warned him before we got together that I have always been obese and the chances of me becoming obese again would happen -- which it did. I currently weigh 285lbs at a 5'2". I have been thinking about weight loss for about 2 years, lots of research and I finally decided I am going to do this for me. I spoke to my boyfriend about it and he is very against me having the surgery. If I mention it he ignores or just says "ok." well the other morning he blew up at me about it. He said like I'm sure you all have heard before "You can lose weight with just diet and exercise. You're' just giving up!" at this point I'm bawling my eyes out saying whatever I can to make him understand. Everything I said to explain why I need this he would just say "You're giving up." I am scared this will end our relationship. I do not want that. Other than that we have a great relationship, never fight. Why did you say to your unsupportive people? Thanks,
