  1. Hello! I see it's been a few years since you started your journey, mine starts at Portsmouth Naval Hospital tomorrow for their orientation! How was your experience? I feel like Tricare doesn't have as much info available online as the civilian hospitals, but I'm so grateful that they've gotten the ball rolling! Thanks for any info!
  2. Thank you! I've been browsing everywhere but am having a hard time finding experience specifically at a military hospital, NMCP especially! There's lots of great general info I'm just hoping to find some folks with experience on the MTF side of things
  3. Hi there! I'm a Hampton Roads local and a Tricare prime beneficiary. I have been on one diet or another for 15 years! I have asthma, high blood pressure, heart palpitations, migraines, infertility, I sweat unnecessarily, my thighs chafe raw, I get winded going up my stairs, and I recently saw pictures of myself from my best friend's January wedding, that was my bottom point. My dr has counseled me over the last year or so to stay under 1199 calories and exercise and I still can't keep weight off. He gave me a referral to the bariatric clinic on base and I have been approved for the orientation on Thursday. There doesn't seem to be much info on what to expect going through this all on base and I feel a little overwhelmed! Any advice, guidance, or input would be so appreciated! I like to know what to expect, I'm a planner!
