  1. I'm so thankful for all of your replies! I'm feeling pretty depressed & exhausted right now so I'm going to go lay down for the night. I will respond to everyone tomorrow. You all had great questions and suggestions!!
  2. I'm on my 5th week now and I'm still feeling totally fatigued and have nausea throughout the day, especially right when I wake up! I'm able to tolerate some foods such as Greek yogurt, cottage cheese & refried beans and I'm sticking to foods high in protein rather than waste my time with food that doesn't have protein. Im having a really hard time getting my protein shakes down. The whey protein was making me completely sick, I'm now trying the Muscle Milk pre made shake with 20g of protein and it seems to be ok, however it takes me all day to drink just one! With having to wait between eating & drinking I'm overwhelmed. I know I'm only getting maybe 30g of protein a day and about 32oz of water. I try to get down my Flinstone vitamin but end up only eating half cuz it makes me feel like throwing up. I have an appt with my NP on Wednesday so I'm going to bring this up to her, I take Zofran for the nausea but it causes other issues. I know I gotta get better with my intake but I'm starting to get depressed & regretful and I'm having a hard time bouncing back. I've lost 36lbs since surgery on 9/30/15 so that does make me feel better but I'm still struggling Sorry for the vent!
  3. My scale didn't start going down until my second week, now I've lost approx a pound each day! I'm down 30lbs since surgery which was on 09/30/15.
  4. I'm doing a terrible job at getting enough water/liquids each day! I'm averaging about 20 ounces Also, my protein has been only 30 grams a day. I have such a hard time remembering since I have to alternate with 30-45 mins between. Also, I have tried every type of protein shake and they all make me sick! So I'm only getting protein from greek yogurt & cottage cheese. I just keep trying.
  5. I may need one lol!! It looks like there will be lots of squats in my future
  6. I have lost 25lbs since my surgery on 09/30/15 and apparently it's all in my face and butt. I'm not that happy about losing my rear as I thought it was the perfect size, at this rate I'm gonna need butt implants after a year lol!! Anyone else losing weight in just one place? I wish it was my thighs or stomach instead!! Please know I'm not complaining, it's just funny to me
  7. I had a really hard time also. I'm 3 weeks out and I'm starting to feel normal again. The pain started to subside after the first week for me. I was seriously regretting having the surgery and was very depressed. It really does get better!! Don't put too much in your sleeve, that will cause pain too. I measure everything! I do 2 oz liquids then set a timer for 30 mins, then 2 oz of protein shake and then 30 mins again before water. I started purées this week and it's making me feel a bit more normal. Try to stay positive and know this part will soon be in the distant past. Also, your weight will start coming off if it hasn't already, I was 255 on surgery day (09/30/15) and now I'm 230!
  8. Are you sitting or laying around more than usual? I have had a lot of back pain since surgery. Mine has been mostly in my lower back but also in my upper back too. I still need to sit up slightly at night in order to get comfortable and I think it makes my back hurt more.
  9. ok that is right up my alley!! It has definitely been pinned to my recipes that I want to eat once I can have solids again. Yummy!
  10. I'm not sure if I will like it either, I don't really eat meat, only on occasion so I'm not big on chicken broth or soup. I'm on purées today, thank goodness. So far the only thing I've tried is yogurt. I got the Oikos Triple Zero and it has 22g of protein per cup. I've been eating 1/4 cup then waiting 1/2 hour, then drink 1/4 cup of Endura (it's an electrolyte mix w/water). I set a timer for 30 mins after I drink or eat either. I've been feeling extremely weak for the last few days & think it's from not getting enough of my liquids & protein. I'm working on getting my 64 oz of liquids and 40g of protein so I can see if I feel any better. I took 2 days off work & I'm out of sick days so I'm not getting paid. Oh and I'm taking my Flinstone Complete vitamin too.
  11. Thank you for all the responses I'm glad I'm not the only one and I do think I will be much better once I can eat solid foods! Right now it's all I can do to get down one protein shake!
  12. I think my head is just going crazy being still on the full liquid stage. Once I can have a bite of something I will stop obsessing. I've been using Pintrest to find all kinds of healthy bariatric recipes and I'm looking forward to trying them out.
  13. Thank you! Those sound delicious to me!! I do realize that all the things I think about missing are exactly the reason I ended up with a BMI of 46, sleep apnea & high blood pressure. I think I'm just transitioning from the old way of life to the new one, I knew all of this was gonna be hard & changing your entire life is major hard.
  14. It's fairly quick, just a few days. Mine unfortunately was positive so I had to do the treatment & then get tested again. Talk about a lot of pills to take!!! Luckily it was negative on the follow up test.
  15. I'm just over 2 weeks post-op and I'm having these moments where I all of a sudden realize that I'm never going to be able to eat large meals again & it's freaking me out! Of course that is a good thing and one of the reasons this surgery helps but I keep thinking about how I'll never be able to eat like 3 pieces of pizza or a huge super burrito or any other large amounts of food. How terrible is it that I'm going to miss that??? I know that part of my problem is that being on a full liquid diet is getting to me mentally and I know I'll be able to eat normal food again, just on a smaller scale. My head hunger is crazy right now! I almost licked my 6-year-old's pizza the other night just to get that taste in my mouth! I think I've officially lost it!!
