  1. I'm right there with you. I had surgery the day before you did. I haven't lost an ounce in 5 days now and only 2.7 for the past 2 weeks! I can't figure out how I can be not losing weight when I'm only eating about 500 calories a day. I had read a lot about the dreaded 3 week stall. So that helps to keep the faith... But I still can't help but feel let down every morning that the scale doesn't move.
  2. It depends on your insurance company. I have Cigna and it took 3 business days from when my completed packet was submitted to get approval.
  3. Quite a bit better. On Monday I didn't have a single 'episode' even in the shower. That was a first in a very long lime. Yesterday I only had one 'episode'. Dr. tomorrow.
  4. Dr. is not in on Saturday. It's been going on for some time. I don't want to sit in an emergency room all day for them to say it's just hypoglycemia. Does it sound like something I need to be worried enough about to go to the ER?
  5. I'm not sure if I'm in trouble or not. I'm just over 3 weeks out. Doing well at getting my fluids and protein in each day. But still very weak and having a hard time getting my exercise. When I stand or with mild exertion, my heart starts beating fast and i get a pressure type pain that starts in my neck and radiates through my shoulders and down the back of my arms to my forearms. I feel like I will pass out. This is worst in the morning...when I occasionally dump for no apparent reason. I never try anything new in the morning. Only liquids and foods that I know I can tolerate. I'm thinking that either my blood pressure or my blood sugar is falling and causing this but not sure which or what more I can do. I've tried eating first and I've tried drinking first. Neither seems to make a difference. Anyone else have these issues and can shed some light? I have an appointment with my doctor on Thursday but was wondering if this is normal for RNY?
  6. I had the same problem. I had my one and only dumping incident after forcing down a protein shake that my pouch was warning me that it didn't like. Then I discovered Isopure! I love it! Like flavored water. It goes down so easily so much easier than those milky shakes. And at 40 grams of whey protein...I can't find a shake to beat it!
  7. I didn't get any guidance in carbs. What number am I looking for there?
  8. I have the same issue. I'm weak and dizzy after mild exertion. I'm only 2 weeks out. I've had the same question about calories. At just below 500 calories, it seem like that could cause serious damage over time and keep me from getting the exercise that I need. I usually get my protein in. I still struggle with getting enough water and haven't found a way to increase my calories.
  9. The doctor cleared me for anything that I can purée in my mouth. I was going to take a creamy chicken or tomato to work for lunch today but was unsure how to treat it. So I stuck to yogurt. Maybe tomorrow. But will it run through to fast to really absorb anything from it?
  10. I'm at the point that I would like to try some soup for lunch today. So does it count as a liquid? Does it count as a meal? Do I need to stop drinking 1/2 hour befor and 1 hour after?
  11. I should say before surgery, I had not had much regular milk for years. Doctor said I wasn't Lactose intolerant. But it did seem to trigger my IBS. So I avoided it. At 12 days out. My diet is still mostly water and milk based. This morning, I choked down my normal premier protein shake. It always leaves me feeling heavy and overfull. This morning was no different. As I was getting ready to get in the shower, I had diahrea. I had to lay down after as I was shaken and weak. Once I got into the shower I started getting shaky and weak again and barely made it out before I had diahrea again. Weak and shaken. I climbed into bed and took a nap? Could this be dumping from my shake? If so I could be in trouble since I have to go back to work tomorrow. I wouldn't have made it today.
  12. Wow ! Congratulations! Looking good!

    Home and in pain

I'm actually feeling half human today and have managed to get some things done around the house. That's fortunate considering the fact that it has been raining all day therefore walking outside is out of the question. Even the protein shake didn't bother me as much this morning...but I think I will follow our lead and try a different milk. Maybe it will taste better. Soy has always been tough on my stomach so i'll try the light almond milk.... I have to go back to work to Tuesday so keep your fingers crossed that this improvement continues!
