  1. im a year and a month out from RNY and sometimes I get the munchies on days I DONT work out, I crave popcorn and rice cakes, peanut butter on wheat ritz(1 serving) and sometimes a fiber one bar for the sweetness, anyone else having these cravings? I was wanting to try the 5 day pouch test to see if I can restart eating and kick this habit. Has anyone ever tried it?
  2. I was counting calories and I did at one point have a pie chart from my fitness pal, I was 40P,30C,30F but I quit tracking everything because it was becoming obsessive, I do work out for about 2 hours a day and thats cardio and weights combined, I'm running about 3 miles a day on the treadmill, sometimes with HIIT. I don't have any daily activities, I sit in a chair and getting up and running around isn't in the cards (Tug boat capt). I am noticing my hunger is more and more, I'm intaking about 1200 calories everyday, at the most 1800 on a day that the hunger kicks in really bad.
  3. Im 1 year out on the 30th and i came from 407lbs to 247lbs, and I am ever so thankful! I am busting my hump at the gym averaging about 3 miles a day jogging or HIIT and been doing weight training for about 2 months. My goal is 199.99 lol I want that onederland post so bad i can taste it but did anyone have any problems getting this last 40Lbs off??? Fluids and protein and Calories are good, Im eating the right stuff but can't seem to shake it, any ideas?
  4. its a tough question, but I'm going to say bypass. I would do it 10x over no questions asked. I had a small complication with a blood clot in the intestines which was no ones fault so I spent a week in the hospital rather then 2 days but yea bud 10x over hands down the RNY. I asked my DR what would he recommend and the biggest bang for my buck since I paid cash for the surgery. He stated the "bypass hands down" since I was 407lbs going in.
  5. Im sorry for the wording, its not my attitude of " screw it all, I'm stuffing my face" its more of a " wow I ate a lot today and didn't realize it" Its rare that this happens but it is happening. Grazing is what got me here along with stress and bored eating habits. I see old pics of myself and say I don't ever want to be that way again. The mental stress I cause myself by thinking all the time, should I eat this, am I not eating enough, am I eating to much, is my work out too routine, am i doing enough in the gym, am I going enough, things like that I question all day everyday. At the end of feb. it will be 9 months post RNY and I already think I'm done losing weight and I have to second guess all those things to keep losing.....so stressful. I thank everyone for the info, I talk to my GF and she supports me but thinks I worry to much. she's a large women too but doesn't understand how nice it is to be smaller and see yourself dramatically larger and not ever want to go back.
  6. I wouldn't consider a screw it all moment but me realizing that I ate a lot today.
  7. Sometimes and I mean sometimes as in maybe 3 or maybe 4 days since my surgery date(May 30th) when I had the RNY, I felt like I had to stuff my face with everything. Today I ate about 1700 calories which had Pizza, a few bites of a greasy breakfast sandwich, a lot of coffee with a lot of cream, protein bar, and about 3 1/3 servings of beef jerky ( all thought the day, not in one sitting hehe) and I normally eat around 1000 calories. Today I have just been in a "screw it" mood and eating everything I normally don't, then feel bad and try to get a jog in( normally 45 min) and just feel unmotivated. Just curious if this is a common thing ?
  8. Curious, do you add the calorie intake for protein shakes or is this some type of "free calories" I log mine in MFP but wasn't sure if anyone else did. Also to truly lose and burn weight off should I be burning more calories then I take in? I'm 8 months out and everyone has given me great advice on setting a calorie, fat, protein goal, but if I'm taking in 1050 calories should I be burning more then that in a work out?
  9. My average meal plan on a daily basis is as follows: Breakfast- greek yogurt with granola, or any egg and cheese stick........Boring!!!!! Lunch- I tend to go out and waste money at place as I order something off the health menu but only eat a few bits, but popular right now is a tuna single serving packet or another yogurt and granola or a quest bar because its easy and fast to eat on the go....any substitute ideas? Dinner- I actually eat a meal with protein first so I'm good here. snacks through out the day- cheese sticks, coffee with sweet and low and cream, fiber one bars.... Im plateauing and really want to shock my body with new foods, I been on these for almost a month and its getting old, and of course exercise routine has been changed as well and calories increased as I am almost 8 months out. I'm 20 lbs from my goal and I need it ASAP as my goal is not a certain LBS but a certain BMI so I can go back to work!!! 40<
  10. I was doing the Americano because it was less calories but I have read that expresso is more of a diuretic then coffee so i laid off the americano and now Im getting decaf hot coffee iced, today is the first day i did that and it seems to taste the same to me.
  11. I use the my fitness pal and I account for 850 calories a day, I do eat carbs on a daily basis I average 40-45% carbs and 30-35% fat and 20-25% protein but I do get my protein in atlas 64g daily. My water is hard to reach simply because I feel like I'm floating if I drink a lot and if I try to drink a lot I end up gulping it down and now have that air in me. I exercise almost daily, either crossfit for an hour burning about 700 calories or I will jog for 30-45 min burning 375 calories. I have a hard time sticking to 3 meals a day on balanced schedule, and i find myself snacking!!! right around 5pm. Snacking includes chips and salsa, trail mix with M&Ms and others but I never over do it on one thing, Snacking is a huge problem of mine right now but I'm getting it under control 4 days song!! Another problem is I weight myself everyday and it kills me to not see the scale move. an example meal for me is... breakfast* Honey Almond Flax Granola- 110 calories Greek strawberry yogurt- 100 calories Lunch* Quest protein bar-190 calories Or Tuna creations packet 80-100 calories depending on flavor. Or another greek yogurt with granola Dinner* I tend to eat a plated meal with chicken and corn and carrots the typical dinner but with protiein first and a table spoon of veggies Snacks* Sharp cheddar cheese stick-90 calories mozzarella cheese stick-70 calories rice cake-40 calories starbucks iced grande coffee with 3 sweet and low and half and half-110 calories chips and salsa-300 calories together trail mix-190 calories for snacks it can be a combo of any of those but I try to limit it to 3 of those a day, the other day I caught myself with 650 calories in snacks alone but I was depressed eating and bored eating. please judge me!!

  13. Whats the actual difference between reg and decaf? just the caffeine?
  14. How do we know how many calories we should be taking in? I'm 7 1/2 months post op and I've set my self up for 850 calories a day, and i burn around 450 a day with a 45 min jog. I'm just curious if I should up my calories or decrease them, is there a way to tell if I need more or less? My 6 month visit wasn't very informative on these things just kept saying stop when I'm full, which Im doing..... any ideas?
  15. Weight loss has slowed down a lot 7 1/2 months most op, is this normal??? any ideas on how to bust through a plateau?
