  1. Fyi, I found that if you take a greek yogurt and put a packet of splenda and 1/2 teaspoon of lemonade kool aid together it tastes like lemon cheesecake. If you really want lemon flavor also shave lemon peel into it. So good and only 80 calories and 12 grams of protein.
  2. Some people just can't handle the artificial sweetners. But I am so glad you liked it without the Splenda.
  3. They also have a chocolate coconut tea. It also tastes fantastic.
  4. Just found this new tea....or new to me from Haney and Sons Hot Cinnamon spice tea. I almost lost it because it tastes just like Red Hots candy. When I crave sweets it is my go to drink. Had to hide it from the husband.
  5. Jolls is correct. In pre industroal times the way we survived was by eating unprocessed foods and storing fat during lean times. Along comes grocery stores and fast food and those who were designed to store fat easily went from being the ones most likely to survive to those most likely to die from obesity and complications. So yes genetics plays a large part but environment can not be discounted as well. It is estimated 80 percent of obesity is genetics and 20 percent was environment this accounts for why it is so hard for many of us to keep the weight off. Not impossible but highly improbable without surgerical interventions.
  6. I have cigna and they covered me as well but don't screw up the 6 month diet or they will start you over. Cover all your bases and you will be fine. I went so far as to call cigna and have them verbally walk me through their steps. I then checked on next years coverage because my 6 months ended in December. My surgery was February 3, 2015.
  7. But the fact you said you choose to eat unhealthy states your environment was your factor. But what about those of us who have to eat 600 calories or less not to get obese? My identical twin and I have both struggled from the time we were 3 years of age not to gain weight. Every diet imaginable. At 279 I could still out run women much smaller then me. My twin and I both run 13.1 miles, bike, kyak and hike and yet we still struggle with our weight. My husband is 6'2 and 180 pounds and he cheats when we run together just to keep up. I am only 5'1 and I still struggle with losing. The sleeve helps a great deal but I know if I fall off the wagon I will gain my weight back easily. I am currently 169 and I need to get to 130. But genetics is a major factor in obesity especially if you like me come from as my father would say "good German stock."
  8. I had the same issues with shoes and rings. The jeweler I talked to said to wait to resize your rings because every time you resize your ring the band is weaker. Eventually it becomes so weak you have to replace it. And that is alot more expensive the waitiing and getting it resized once.
  9. My husband is also skinny and very attractive. He has never battled his weight but he finally agreed that I needed to do what was best for my health. I started losing weight in August to get ready for the sleeve. Since then I have lost 100 pounds and my husband had noticed the difference in mood, self esteem, energy and yes even my sex drive. All for the good. I told my husband that this surgery was not about him but about me having a better quality of life. I told him I wanted to be around for him and our children. Now my husband sees how much my life has improved. Off all meds, very little depression and even the doctors are astounded with how much my health has improved. Remember you are the one who has to live with obesity and you will be the one to deal with the health issues. Do what is best for you. The rest will work out. By the way the sleeve is fantastic.
  10. It could be worse. My mother told everyone I had liposuction because she could not be bothered to find out what my surgery was. In addition my younger and thinner sister has yet to talk to me since I had the surgery. She has always been the skinny and pretty one. Not my words but that is what everyone describes her as and the funny thing is she is in her own words "the eight dwarf Bitchy." My daughter will not even talk to me about my weight loss other then to say I am just jealous because she is skinner then me. My husband is pleased and my son now accepts that it was a great decision for me. I am 3 months post op and so far have lost 92 pounds since October 2014. I know some people are so selfish but really. I have always supported them. The great thing is that I no longer take eight different medications and now I have the energy of the energizer bunny. Sometimes the hardest thing to accept is that those around you may not support your decisions. The only thing you can do is accept that you are doing what is best for you and go on. Be true to yourself and value yourself not by those around you. You matter...
  11. Magnesium deficiency will cause your eye to twitch as well cause you to have muscle spasms. Look at your at your vitamins make sure you are getting enough. Because many of us stay away from carbs we can develop magnesium deficiency because we fail to eat enough bran.
  12. Hi everyone, a quick question has anyone hit the infamous stall as of yet? I am becoming stressed because I have my next weigh for my 8 weeks post op on March 2 and the scale seems to not want to move. I am walking more and exercising 3-5xs a week depending on my schedule. I know stalls happen but I stress. My doctor has given me no goals to work towards and that drives me nuts. I am very goal oriented.
  13. I love New York and Co. and if you wait for their sales you can get really good deals. It is a blend of business and causal wear. I always look good and the clothing wears really well. I only have to get rid of stuff because I am losing sizes. I have outfits from 10 years ago that are still in fab condition.
