  1. Way to go Wendy! Congratulations!
  2. I just had the post op swallow test that is usually done after 12 months. I had mine at 19 months though. Pretty cool to see the barium - (which was one big sip or two) go through. What was really good was that the doctor said everything is just as he left it. There is no stretching out or anything and I am good to go. I asked if you can actually stretch the sleeve and the answer was "Yes" if you do not follow your plan and overeat consistently. So stay on plan everyone and follow those lifetime guidelines.

    Vegas in January

I just got back from my first trip to Vegas in October. I agree with all the responses so far. I saw the show "Ka" (Cirque de soleil) and it was amazing. I always wanted to see a Cirque show. Have a great time. So much to see and you will not have enough time for it all. I was amazed at how HUGE the hotels were. Oh at the Mirage you have to go see the baby Siberian tigers that were born. They were 9 weeks old and were the most adorable creatures in the world. They are in their own little nursery in the Sigfried and Roy habitat. I jumped off the 10th floor of the Stratosphere Hotel which is 855 feet up. It was awesome.I posted a picture of me in the photo section under my before and now photo. It is embedded in the conversation thread. Have fun!
  4. Thanks everyone. I will post one more picture too. I jumped off the Stratosphere Hotel in Las Vegas last week. It was from the 108th floor which is 855 feet up. A long, long time ago I said that if I ever got to 150 lbs. again in my life I would either sky dive or do a jump. So the jump "presented itself" while I was out in Vegas and I went for it. It was super awesome!
  5. So I thought I would post a before and after picture of me at my highest weight and where I am now since I am 19 months out from VSG. Not quite where I want to be yet but I am historically a "turtle" when it comes to weight loss and I have accepted that. I am happy at how far I have come and how this tool has worked and will continue to work for me!
  6. Go Jolls! You have been such an inspiration to everyone on Thinner Times. You can do this and everyone is here to support you 100%! I will join you as well. Summertime eating on the weekends with a little of this and a little of that at times.............not good especially when you want to lose more and are not at goal. I could use an additional 10 - 15 oz. of water per day. I need to step up my exercise more. I have been consistently up and down on the scale with the same pound for 3 months. I would like to lose an additional 10- 15 lbs. and it is a real challenge at this point. I had been to my GP recently and was told that I have at least 10 - 15 lbs. of loose skin and that my real weight is actually lower and that is probably why it has slowed down. I look like a melted candle (YIKES) especially around the abdomen. I would love to have that removed but not sure what insurance will cover. I guess I am going to have to find out. Point is- I am IN. I will support and join you in the "renewal"!!
  7. Holy Moly! Congratulations! You look wonderful!

    WendyH VSG 7/7/15

So glad for you Wendy! I don't post too often but I read the posts everyday. You have given some great advice and seem to be such a warm and friendly person! I wish you lots of luck on your journey! Think I need to change my stats at some point today too LOL!
  12. Jesse, Loot at MY stats. Other than I am probably a couple of pounds lighter since I did not update recently, it has taken me and is still taking me time to get to where I want to be. Some of us are just slow losers, but you are losing and that is the number one important thing. No one knows slow loss more than me. You have to remember this is a tool and it does work. Like Pappa said, of all the WLS procedures, this surgery is not the fastest at weight loss but it is the one YOU have chosen so work with it. However, I would like to add at this point I do take a few bites of other foods once in a while as I am living my life and learning how to moderate. The sleeve does not permit me to overeat at all. Love that sleeve! I don't obsess every day like I used to about my weight. I used to do that on a daily basis - no make that every time I ate and had such guilt. Now I live my life free from obsession and happy. Before you know it a year will have passed and you will be amazed at how far you have come. Enjoy the ride. Edit: OMG I am not 54 anymore! ugg
