Gaining weight - would like your advice

I don't think we are allowed to post links here, but search Bariatric Eating, back on track. The plan is 4-5 protein drinks a day and one small protein/veggie meal. I am almost 7 years out from surgery and have lost almost 10 pounds of a 50 pound regain in a month. The website has tons of bariatric friendly recipes. There is also a very supportive FB group- although they do push using the BE protein products, which can be a bit annoying. Good luck!

First dumping experience at 26 months

I'm five years out from surgery and ice cream is not my friend! I can't eat more than a couple of spoonfuls or I will dump. I think it must be the high sugar and fat content along with dairy.
  5. Oh, my goodness! What a tremendous amount of trauma you have been through! I'm so grateful to you for sharing your story- it's a warning to newbies and oldies, alike. Sending you healing hugs, Carmen.

    Essential oils

I use the Do Terra oils. I love the Digestzen oil blend. Very handy for angry pouches and my wonky gall bladder.
  7. Sorry to hear about your health issues. Please keep us posted. Your hair is super cute!

results of the 5 day pouch reset diet

Good for you! You've inspired me.
  9. First off, I am so very sorry for your loss. I can't even imagine how painful it would be to lose a loved one in such a way. Huge hugs to you. Since going off Seroquel isn't an option for you, maybe you could try self-hypnosis? They have a huge variety of sessions for all sorts of issues. I've downloaded sessions from hypnosisdownloads.com and have found them helpful. Good luck and don't give up.

The pics are adorable and you look terrific- but I think the best part is the happiness that radiates from you!

    The mirror doesnt match....

What you're feeling is perfectly normal. You've lost a lot of weight in a short amount of time and it's going to take a while for your brain to catch up. In the meantime, be kind to yourself.

    Questions....

Hi, E. I had gastric bypass done in January of 2010. Even though I am currently about 25 pounds over what I consider my optimal weight (darn those carbs), it is still the best thing I've ever done for myself. The only thing I'm sorry about is that I waited so long to do it. I have two friends (neither is on this forum, unfortunately) who had GB and have also been very successful. Like any other WLS, you can defeat it. The nutritionist who ran our pre-op class liked to say, "they're operating on your stomach- not your head."

    Hair Loss and Toppik

I tried it and thought it was great- until I saw what it looked like when I was outside! I actually prefer a product that Joan River's sells. It's called Great Hair Day. I bought mine from QVC. http://www.qvc.com/Joan-Rivers-Beauty-Great-Hair-Day-Fill-In-Powder-with-Brush.product.A78804.html?sc=A78804-Targeted&cm_sp=VIEWPOSITION-_-1-_-A78804&catentryImage=http://images.qvc.com/is/image/a/04/a78804.001?$uslarge$

FEELING LIKE I AM LOSING CONTROL

Hi. We had our surgery around the same time (mine was January of 2010) and I wanted to let you know that you are not alone. I never quite made my goal of 150- I think I got down to 152. I wasn't too unhappy with that because I looked and felt good. Buuuutttt...then the weight started creeping back on. a pound or two here and there at first and then blamm-o! I started gaining at a much more rapid rate over the past year or so. I am offically 30 pounds heavier than my lowest. And I'm getting desperate. I'm better about my exercise but my bad food habits are biting me in the hiney. It's time for me to do the 5 day pouch test (for real, this time) and get a handle on this. I refuse to go back to where I started. The good news is that you know what you need to do- now you just need to do it. I'll be cheering for you!
