NSV of the Week - whats yours?

I went on my first date since I separated from my husband. We had a great time and are already planning to go out again soon.

    What Are You Wearing Today?

I don't usually post here, but I felt pretty in this outfit. Green lace dress from Kohl's, size 10. Cream lace jacket from Talbot's, size 10.

My program suggests eating 1/2 of a banana if at all only because they have so much sugar. When I eat one, I usually share it with one of my kids or save the the other half in the freezer to add to my smoothie the next day.

    New protein choice!

I've tried fairlife, it is pretty good. My kids and I didn't notice any difference between it and lactaid.
  8. I read this article this morning. It was a good read, something we have discussed many times on this forum.

    Sleeve Dumping

That happens to me when I eat simple carbs with sugar and no protein. A few weeks ago, I ate 1/2 bagel with blueberry cream cheese for breakfast at work. About 30 mins later, I had the same experience... shaking, jittery sensation, and it was difficult to focus. I thought I was going to pass out. I'd had a similar experience before that when I ate one of my children's granola bars.

Just needed to get this out...

A friend who only has girls asked me what it was like to have boys. I said, "Well, my 10 y.o. son will for no apparent reason get up, do a round house kick in the air and then go back to doing whatever he was doing before that notion overcame him." Also, can tell my daughter to go get something and she will go and come right back with whatever it is while her brother is still standing there looking quite bewildered by the exact same directions, lol.

Exactly.. girl clothes are so much fun and way cheaper than boy's clothes.

    A diagnosis, sort of

Greer, so sorry you are dealing with this! Take care. HC, will keep us posted!
  14. Bruising happens. I was on lovenox during my pregnancies and my thighs looked like I was a battered woman. I found that I bruised less when I sort of pinched together the fatty area where I planned to do the injection and put the needle straight in (not at an angle). By the end of my pregnancy, I was a pro and bruising was minimal.

    Abridged Version

Leigha, Thank you for sharing your story. Sharing your experience with strangers takes a great deal of courage as does following through on your decision to have WLS. I am sorry for what you have been through and very proud of you for living your life the best you can despite the horrendous challenges you have faced (and survived!). Please stay close to this forum as you will find some excellent advise on how to make this surgery really work for you. Good luck!
