  1. I have has a couple of bad years, drinking, back pain, gall bladder surgery, my husband has been hospitalized for mental health reasons, my mom fell several times and ended up with back surgery and is now in rehab. As of now I am 6 weeks sober. I have gained 40 pounds during that time. I fight depression every day and know what to do but am currently lacking the motivation to excercise. I have cleaned up my diet somewhat. i know for a fact i have seasonal depression. anytime i see the sun come out i feel so much better about life. working on a workout plan asap. Just wanted to reconnect since its been a while. this group is so amazing.

    Did Detox

Hi julie, I think I may be going down the same road. I hardly eat dinner, if i do its very little and only eat so my husband won't get pissy. i drink wine every night probably about 5-6 glasses or until i pass out on the couch. I have noticed I start drinking earlier and earlier in the day. I used to wait for the evening now I m looking at 4 in the afternoon and ready for a glass. It just snuck up on me. I feel sad all the time, a lot of life changes, I now have no kids living at home they have all grown up and moved out. Its a good thing they are all doing great just really hard for me. That first buzz off the first glass just makes me feel so relaxed and I don't think about how sad I am. I know I need to stop, I feel like crap the next day and am always so tired!! I am not sure what kind of help I really need at this point I just need to stop. small bottles have gone to cheap boxes of wine.. I m scared and sad thinking about giving it up...
  4. When should I start being concerned? I am 15 pounds below goal weight ? I have no desire to eat ever have to force myself at meal times to eat something.
  5. So I am going to be 2 years post op this December and all of a sudden with out trying I have dropped another 10 pounds and am now 15 pounds below my goal weight. I haven't done anything different and actually have not been working out as much as I used to. I feel okay maybe a little more tired than usual but other wise ok. Just wondering if this was normal or should I be concerened?
  6. I am down to the last 10 pounds at 8 months out. I am obsessed with the number I want to see on the scale. I am only losing 1-2 pounds a month for the last few months. I have increased my calories a bit from 800 to average 1000 a day. I am running 3 days a week and starting strength training this week. How realistic is it to lose those pesky 10 pounds? I do have some loose skin, which I hate. People keep telling me to stop losing weight, but I feel like I wont be happy until I get to the number i have had in my head all along.
  7. I went zip lining! So much fun! 10 pounds from goal, plan on taking surfing lessons!! This is so much fun!

    I've Decided To Do It

I really want to do the same, every time I look in the mirror there it is!! How close to your goal weight do you have to be to qualify for the tummy tuck? do you mind sharing what the price range is?
  9. So yesterday was my 6 month check up. I first met with the NUT and she did the weigh in and was so shocked at how much I have lost in such a short amount of time. I have lost 94% of my excess body weight so far. She would like to see me up my calories to 1200. I tell ya the idea of that terrifies me. I feel like I would like to lose another 20 pounds. When I look in the mirror I still see fat especially in the abdomen area. I then went on to see the surgeon and he said if you didn't lose another pound he would be happy. Well I told him I would not be happy at all. He said it would be ok to lose a little more and still stay in the healthy range. He has some little disk that showed where my BMI would be at the my goal weight and it said it was on the low side of healthy. I have a BMI app on my phone and it shows me right in the middle. The weight loss is slowing down some but I am still losing and I hope to get to my goal by end of summer. I am really struggling with what I see in the mirror and what others say they see. All in all I felt good leaving there and motivated to keep going and lose those last 15-20 pounds!
  10. I feel the same way as well. I have gone from a size 18-8 in 6 months! my daughters tell me all the time how "tiny' I'm getting. I don't believe them. I don't know why, I just don't. It is really strange, even when I see pictures I can find the fat and rolls. I am not sure when I will be satisfied.
  11. I started aqua exercise class and feel so much better!!
  12. 20 more pounds till goal!!

  13. Its right in the middle of my back, right across the bra line. Just went for a walk and in pain again.
  14. I'm about 5 months post op and really struggling with significant back pain. When I was heavier, I had back pain but nothing like this. Just even taking a walk or waking at work I am in pain within a matter of minutes. I cant even sit in the recliner at home for more than 15 minutes. I am most comfortable in my bed with a lot of pillows. I use icy hot several times a day. I am seeing a chiropractor tomorrow for assessment. I was wondering if anyone else had this issue? In 5 months I have lost 72 pounds and wonder if I have just lost the muscles needed to hold me up. I started back at the gym yesterday with a little cardio and strength training, which I really like. I love feeling strong, but this fatigue in my back really affects my quality of life. I average about 70-80 grams of protein a day. Does anyone have any suggestions? I wonder if seeing a chiropractor is the right solution? thanks for ay input.
