  1. Hi everyone! I am looking for some support and encouragement. I had Roux-N-Y surgery on June 10th. My situation is a little complicated because I am paralyzed. My initial hospital stay was 7 days. While in the hospital I was on clear fluids only, no protein was given. The hospital nutritionist said this was wrong. Needless to say after coming home I called nutritionist who said I was behind by a week. I had a very hard time getting down 20gms of protein let alone the 60 I needed, due to severe nausea. After 3 days I was back in the hospital with my body dehydrated and in starvation mode. I spent another 7 days in th hospital getting nutrients by IV. I am having regretful thoughts about having the surgery. I did my homework on the surgery but never thought it would be this hard! Any suggestions on the purée part of the diet? Thanks everyone!
  2. Thank you everyone for a warm welcome! Laffy, my pain has been tolerable. It's the nausea that is killing me! Looks like we have the same weight goals! Maybe we could be buddies? Karensturn, you are so right! Craig and Swedish are amazing! We moved from Florida to Colorado to be apart of the Craig family!
  3. My name is Jennifer and I am 8 days post op from Roux n y surgery. I am 5'6" and weigh 252 lbs. I hope to get down to 145 lbs but have doubts. I was paralyzed almost 4 yrs ago from a diving accident and I am confined to a wheelchair. Since I can only do limited upper body excercises, I worry I won't loss as much. That being said, I'm going to give it my best shot! Love this site! So happy I stumbled onto it! Great stories and advice!
