    Coffee as liquid

If you love the flavor, put instant decaf in your chocolate protein shake. Yummy!
  3. I'm banded but just did what was suggested above. I went back to basics and lost what I had gained quickly. I know what you mean about the dreaded 200's. It scared me!! I hope you have recovered from your accident. Good luck to you.
  4. Starbuck's cinnamon dulce sugar-free syrup, yum! They sell it by the bottle. I do both decaf and regular. Also, sometimes Unjury vanilla and sometimes half and half. Always stevia. I'm addiced to my Keurig!! Also just ordered sugar-free peppermint syrup because I love "candy cane" coffee and its only around during the holidays. I'm on my last box of coffee, so the syrup will have to do!!
  5. I agree with WorkinProgress. The surgery is not magic. What we are eating is! A woman I went to high school with just had WLS and her Mother lives across the street from mine. My Mother said the other day, "she is already off all meds! How is that possible?". My response was, she's not eating all that crap anymore!! Seems my Mother has forgotten my journey already. My family has gotten so used to me NOW, its like the old me never existed, but that's a whole other post! I had my surgery Nov 2012. Before that I had been a diabetic for over 20 years. I was on an insulin pump and I did let it cover what ever I wanted to eat. I also took many different type of oral meds. Long story short, I was off the pump on the pre-op diet and now barely need the last of the oral meds. That was my ultimate goal. Once a diabetic, always a diabetic. BUT it can go into remission. Whenever I hear someone say they are no longer a diabetic I say....Drink a real Coke and test your bloodsugar in an hour and then tell me you are no longer a diabetic.
  6. I am so happy to have LOST this weight! It was sometimes hard and sometimes easy to LOSE. It is thrilling to wear LOOSE clothing. That concludes the proper use and spelling for today, ty.

    Kathleen's journey

My journey, beginning October 2012. Surgery November 2012.
  8. I made the best protein shake this morning! I received my Unjury protein powders on Monday and I've been trying new recipes with them. I ordered the Sorbet thinking it would be great for summer and I was so correct! Yesterday I filled an ice tray with Crystal Light Raspberry Lemonade because I hate the way ice dilutes the flavor in my shakes. Here is what I put in the Ninja this morning.... - 8 oz of raspberry lemonade - 4 to 6 cubes of frozen lemonade - 1/2 a cup of plain greek yogurt - 1 scoop of Unjury Sorbet - 1 T of ss/ff cheesecake pudding powder (to thicken) 160 calories; 9 carbs; 33 grams of protein; I ordered some organic chia seeds this morning and will start experimenting with it soon. Enjoy! I realize now you were asking about different recipes. Ooops!
  9. Welcome! Dr. Hollis did my surgery as well...loved him! Great staff, surgical team etc. Keep us posted and I will add you.
  10. I'm with Molly it is definitely a problem!! but so much fun! Yes, Triadchick...boots, boots and more boots! I'm embarrassed to say I've purchased a dozen boots and many more high heel shoes! I'm addicted and they thrill me to no end! I'm kinda tall and love to wear really high heels and my husband is 6'5" and we are a site to see when entering any place together! Love it!! I had said many times when I gave a way car loads of clothing that I wanted a small amount of quality clothes to replace them. Um, I went a bit over that statement, lol. Oh, but the first thing I bought was one pair of black dress pants in a 16W. It was a mistake because when I found them in the Missy department in a regular 16, they fit much better. I've since bought 6 more of the same style but in smaller sizes. I have never had big legs and now they are skinny and why not show it off with pants that fit well? Again, so much fun! But here are the photos of shoes and boots I happened to have on my phone.
  11. I have a lap band also and I just started back on TT this week. I'd be happy for any of you to add me and share my experiences with you all.
  12. I've always bought mine at CVS but will have to look at Target for peppermint! My CVS only carries the regular flavor and I'm really tired of it, ha! I've used it for about a year now and can not live without it!! Just posted about it last night on another thread!
  13. Tried the Magic Bullet while staying with my nephew and didn't care for it. I was used to a big blender container! Now I own a Ninja set that has 2 small containers and blade and a huge pitcher with its own blade. I LOVE it! Double blade does a great job on ice in protein shakes. I think I found mine off of Brad's Deals and don't remember where the deal was from, as far as which store.
  14. I loved tuna salad pre-op and ate it often to lower my blood sugar, but now its no longer appealing. I can eat tuna alone in a green salad sometimes and I eat boiled eggs on their own, but both together taste terrible to me now. The other thing I noticed initially was that every thing tasted too salty. I no longer notice it as much.
  15. My first goal was to get off of insulin and that happened very quickly! My next goal was to get out of plus size clothes and that has also happened! I've been on "pause" for probably a year and now ready to ramp it up again for my final goal. BMI calculator says 155 is normal for my height. Honestly that seems too thin for me, but we will see! Any movement in that direction is a positive!
  16. I've not been on TT for such a long time but decided it was time to be part of this community again. I've done so well over the past year and was even able to get hired for a part time (temporary) job, for a while. I realize that I let myself get too comfortable with where I was weight wise and so the weight started creeping up this winter. I did great during the holidays, even took off about 8lbs right before Thanksgiving. My thought was I needed a buffer in case I put on a few between Thanksgiving and Christmas. I actually stayed on top of it and did well until winter set in. Boy, did we have a winter! I was so nice and cozy and INACTIVE in my little house on the gulf coast, lol. I gained the 8 back around the first of the year. Worked hard and lost 5 again. I was so active on our spring vacation but but now I'm 12 lbs (actually 10lbs now, cuz I lost 2lbs already) up from my lowest weight. So now I'm back to what I know works for me! Shakes have to be part of my day, absolutely! Logging my food again is mandatory! No more thinking I'm on top of it without seeing it logged. Such a farce, lol! Thankfully my husband fends for himself. He could stand to lose a bit himself! Its spring and most of the pollen is gone here on the coast. I suffer greatly with it, sucks! So with Zyrtec, Flonase and allergy eye drops I must venture outside to walk, walk, walk. We just returned from RVing in the Texas Hill Country and I hiked every day! I have a great city park here with a beautiful paved walking trail but I'm so bored with it. I wish we had a State Park close. It would be worth the yearly fee to have a better place to hike and walk. So that's where I stand and I think rejoining this community is a step in the right direction. As long as I don't spend too much time on my butt at the computer!
  17. I've gained 12 lbs this winter and that was after the holidays! At first I was in a wild panic, but now I'm back to what I know works and its coming off!

  18. I was a clothing store manager for 30+ years....specialty and department stores. You will get your best assistance at specialty (small) stores. It was so much fun working in those and having the time to spend with my customers! I love the advice Princessblog gave you and there will be more of that in most specialty stores. Once you get a good idea of what is best for your figure, then you can hit the discount stores (my fave) and others with knowledge in hand! It is so much fun and my closet is full again! I actually built it back up way more than intended, lol! I still have 30lbs to work on. Also, as you can imagine, in my line of work, I had a huge wardrobe before. My intention this time was quality over quantity since I'm retired. I went a bit past my plan, ha! Enjoy and let us know how it goes!
  19. I've had so many horrible episodes, I can't even begin to count them! I take a softener every night but the best thing I have found is Smooth Move Tea!! If I get out of the habit of drinking it every few nights I am back to the episodes! I've been told mineral oil and I keep that in the back of my mind. I hope the tea keeps working for me!! After almost a year and a half since surgery my potty time is now a scheduled event, its horrible but manageable if I pay attention. All the best to you all. Seriously think this is the worst part of this new life!

    From the album: Kathleen's journey

  21. I've been a diabetic for over 20 years and was also on an insulin pump before lap band surgery in November of 2012. I barely needed it while on my pre- surgery diet and by January 2013, after using it about every 3 days if any, the endo said to take it off and leave it off!! I am still on metformin and honestly I can live with that. I wish you all the best. It has changed my life!!
  22. Been a while, but I'm back :D
