  1. I'm 23 had the duodenal switch December 2010. Not much has changed with friends, some were more encouraging than others, but some just didn't understand. Significant others haven't been a big deal with me. I have had more guys notice me, but they've also been jerks so heads up and take care of yourself!! Family was the biggest support I had, especially because I was self pay.
  2. I had the duodenal switch in December 2010. As time and weight have flown by, I constantly find myself questioning the surgery. Yes, it is easier to walk around and shopping for new clothes was a fun journey at first. However, being a self pay patient made me very jaded toward the experience. I also live in a college town which makes it hard to cope because even though I've lost an entire person, I still feel like a troll in my own town. Does anyone else feel like this?
