  1. So here i am a week away from my band / bypass converstion and I am so scared of so many things. Will they be able to do the band removal and bypass at the same time, will I lose weight , will I lose weight at a good pace and not at just 1/2 or 1/4 of a lb a week , will it stay off or am i putting myself in debt yet again , having paid for a band that just did not work long term for me. I have had so many problems one way or another in getting all this arranged and the money sorted that I am wondering if fate is telling me not to go ahead !! I just wish could jump forward 6 weeks or so and have more of an idea of what to expect

    Hello

Hello to all you lovely people out there , I am new to this so forgive any rambling but I just wanted to introduce myself and see if there is anyone else out there with a similar story. Having had a gastric band in 2007 I am now due to have a band to bypass converstion. It's not that the band did not work for me at all , I lost about 70lbs with it but it just did not suit me. I had to travel overseas with my job at the time and had two over restrictions as a result of transatlantic flights. The 2nd time i ended up in hospital ( due to dehyration - i could not even drink a thimble full of water ) whilst in Phoenix USA and could not travel home on my sceduled date . I had 3 other episodes of the band tightening and not being able to eat ( not a problem ) or drink ( BIG problem) . The final time was just before chistmas in 2009 when I had to go to A and E and have a yet another de fill. After that I became to scared to use the tool and have regained all my wieght, plus more. Having loved my appearance and the freedom of being a size 16 I cannot stand the life that I now life and the limitations that come with it . After spending an evening with my sister (who has also yo yo dieted all her life) we both came clean and confressed how unhappy we were and how desperate we were to do something postive about. So here I am 3 weeks later , loan sorted and a date for a revision confirmed for me and standard bypass for my sister with Dr Dillemans on the 23rd of September. We are so excited with a date that will be the start of a new journey in our life , and i would love to hear from anyone who has gone through a revision and what their experieince was , plus what sort of wieght loss they have had . ( i have been lead to belive it is not a good as those who have never had any previous WLS)? Dee
