    11 Months Out...170+ Lbs Gone!

Thanks to everyone for your kind words. I haven't been on in a little bit...I have been having some stomach issues-thought it was a virus, or maybe the flu, but my Dr. is concerned it may be that ugly ulcer coming back to cause me havoc!! I think she is going to put me in the hospital today to have tests run, hopefully they will find the cause of this pain, and I can get back to normal....prayers are always welcome, and appreciated.....

This was the only full body shot I was able to resize in paint. I don't know why the others won't work...

Thanks Karen!! I totally agree with you! Prior to my weight loss I had asthma so bad, I would huff and puff after just a few steps! I still have asthma, but now it is under control-without medication!!! What a difference 175 lbs makes! I can't imagine just lugging around an extra 175 lbs with me every where I go-and yet I did just that....for years!!!

    11 Months Out...170+ Lbs Gone!

Thanks Serena!! I just had my daughter take my first ever full body shots (Since my surgery) over the week-end- but I can't get then to upload on here. I had no problems on It really is true what they say about looking at pictures being the best way to SEE the difference. For the first time in 11 months I really saw what everyone else saw. Now I wonder how long it will take to really feel "NORMAL" or will I ALWAYS feel "Morbidly Obese?" Gosh, I really hated that term/label/category, "Morbidly Obese," it just sounds so horrible!! But thanks again for your kind comments!!! All of my inspiration and encouragement has come from reading other peoples profiles and looking at all the awesome before and after pictures. I wish I had a support group near me. If not for this site I would feel really alone.....
  5. These are some before and after pics. I am off ALL of the $2,500.00 per month medications I was on prior to surgery!! I am feeling wonderful!!

4 months out, unable to hold down food...

Thank you for responding! You were right on the money!! I went in Tuesday morning for the scope...I was in so much pain by this time, I was in tears as well as dry heaving constantly. The Gastro Dr. was wonderful- he promised me he would find out what was wrong, and he did!!! It was a BIG, UGLY, ULCER!!!! I was never so happy to be diagnosed with anything in my life!! I felt like I was going crazy! It was so frustrating to have people think that I was doing something wrong by eating or drinking the wrong things!! I thank God for my Primary Dr. for scheduling the appt. for the scope!! I am taking prilosec 2x a day, and have another scope scheduled for May 20,2011....and I feel sooooooo much better!!! No more horrible pain, waking up all hours of the night, and the dry heaves are gone!! I ate 1 oz of eggs yesterday, and am holding down the unjury protein shakes, and ALL of my vitamins!! I feel like I am getting stronger every day, and there is now light at the end of the tunnel!!! My husband admitted to me he was really scared I was going to die last week. I really did look like death warmed over!! I have lost 102 lbs so far, and feel like I will now have a future to enjoy my new HEALTHY life in!!! Thank you again for all of your help and advice in this forum!!! You are so appreciated!!! -Jenna-
  7. Hi, I am four months out from having gastric bypass done. I was doing really well at first. I had no problems with nausea etc... I have lost 98 lbs to date. My problems started on 01/19/2011. I started feeling sick to my stomach, which lead to throwing up. I left work early to go to the Dr.- My primary Dr. did a flu test- which I tested positive for. I was on tamiflu for 5 days. To date I am still sick. I have been in and out of the hospital due to dehydration. I am taking reglan. I have followed up with my surgeon. It is all I can do to keep down 20-30 oz of fluid a day. Some days it's only a couple of sugar free Popsicles. One day I felt like if I drank some diluted apple juice I might be able to keep it down-so I did and I felt better! Then I am told to NOT to even try apple juice again. I am really frustrated, I feel like this is more than just complications of the flu. I am so weak and tired. My blood work came back low, my protein level is awful, I am losing my hair...they were only able to get a tube and a half of blood from me because of the dehydration. (Blood work and surgeon follow up was on Feb 9th) Yesterday my primary Dr. gave me a vitamin B-12 shot. She is trying to get me scheduled for a scope here in town. I swear I have followed my plan- I have not cheated, I have never dumped!! I keep hearing that 98% of problems are because of "User's" If I have or am doing something wrong, I would stop, believe me!! Any advice you can offer would be appreciated! I am sick of throwing up, and really need to get back to work!

New to this site...having issues :(

Thank you to everyone for your replies and encouragement!!! I feel so much better now!! I went to my follow up appt. on Wednesday up in Indianapolis. I really do have an awesome team up there!!! They gave me samples of the calcet chewable calcium-the lemon flavor is excellent!!! I am also taking extra iron, and they gave me samples of the building blocks chewable iron in black raspberry flavor-that is really good too!! I have so much more energy now it is unbelievable....AND the scales are moving again!!!!! I am now down to 259 lbs, I know that still sounds like a lot, but looking back at 304lbs just 44 days ago, I feel pretty good:D Woo Hoo!!! At my appointment I found out I have lost another 4 inches off my waist, 1 1/2 inches off my arms, 2 inches off my hips, and another 2 inches off my chest!! I am totally losing my butt, and I can't wait until my body starts to kind of even out-lol:o Thanks again to everyone for their help!!! This is the best site ever! I have decided to just stay positive, and let my body adjust to getting back to "NORMAL," and to just stick to my plan and let nature take it's far so good!!!!!!

Misty, Thanks so much for your help! I knew the advice from the woman at work just had to be wrong!! I am glad to hear this stall I am in is normal. Sometimes it's hard to figure out what normal is!! The chewable calcium my husband bought is called "Caltrate 600+D soft chews." Unfortunately the first ingredient listed is "Calcium carbonate." So I will order the chewable calcium citrate from one of the companies you suggested. I knew it was to good to be Thanks for telling me the difference though, otherwise I wouldn't have known there was a difference! I feel so much better now. Thanks again!!! -Jenna-
  11. Hi, My name is Jenna. I had RNY on 09/29/10. My start weight was 304, I am now down to 261 lbs. I have been stuck here at 261 lbs for almost 1 1/2 weeks!! I am having issues eating, even pureed food. I can't swallow the calcium pills-even the petites...Hubby just got me chewable calcium at Walmart and it is awesome!!!! My taste buds feel like they are dead....NOTHING tastes good...which would be GREAT, if only I could get in that protein!!! It seems from what I've read on this site, that the lack of protein and calories I am consuming is probably why I am not losing any more weight. I am trying to drink as much protein as I can in the shake form, I am using unjury. I mix it with the organic sugar free silk milk...because I am now lactose intolerant. I have thrown up 6 times since having surgery....all in the last couple of days. I have been exercising, I walk everyday. Today was my first day back at work, and I felt like I had a lot of energy, for the most part of the day.....towards the end of the day my back started still hurts On a positive note...I am off all my high blood pressure meds since my last Dr. Visit!!!! I am just frustrated and don't know what I am doing wrong. I work with a woman who had surgery in 2005. She has lost 175lbs and kept it off, but she doesn't take her vitamins or calcium anymore, she said she can just tell when she is low on protein by the way she feels. She eats a lot of beef jerky with cheese. She has suggested several foods for me to try like mac and cheese, and pizza. I didn't think I was allowed to have any kind of pasta, and pizza just sounds painful and gross. If anyone has any suggestions I would really appreciate your input. I honestly am not hungry, but I know if I don't eat I won't loose any more, and will end up getting sick. Thanks in advance for any help you can give!!! -Jenna- P:S I can't seem to figure out how to post pictures on my page
