Did your babies' weights differ before and after surgery?

My first baby was 7 lbs 7 oz and my second baby was 8 lbs 15 oz at 37 weeks due to the fact that I weighed over 200 lbs and had gestational diabetes. I had surgery 6 years ago and I will have to let you know when the 3rd comes this year. I am 6 weeks along. Sara

So far I tried making my own with soy protein from Trader Joes with Crystal Lite, Unjury, and the Bariatric Advantage. How do you make the starbucks version?
  5. Hello All, I am a newbie/lurker. I have been reading all of your very informative posts prior to my surgery to attempt to understand what I was about to get myself into. Here is my story: My name is SaraLee and I am 30 years old with 2 daughters (ages 14 and 9). When I was a teenager I had anorexia nervosa up until I was 3 months pregnant with my first child. I had gestational diabetes during my last pregnancy and I knew I was at a higher risk of developing the disease in the next 10 years. I was exercising almost every day at lunch until I developed an issue with one of my bones in my right foot. I had surgery in 2006 to shorten a metatarsal and they found a tumor the size of a quarter on the nerve. It took me many months to heal and over a year and half to fully recover enough to just walk short distances. A few years ago I was diagnosed with high blood pressure and put on medication. I was also told that I was pre-diabetic, needed to go on the South Beach Diet and see a nutritionist by my PCP. I eventually developed type 2 diabetes, high cholesterol and was put on medication for both. Sometime in the last 5 years my PCP gave me a referral to see Dr. Callery for WLS. I went to the seminar/lecture and was in serious denial about my diabetes, etc. I was definitely not in the right frame of mind to make this decision. I went to the seminar in April at Alvarado Hospital in San Diego and had almost all of the co-morbidities they listed in the presentation. I hated having diabetes as it was taking a huge toll on my life. I started a 1400 calorie diet given to me by the nutritionist on my first visit to Dr. Bhoryul

Don't know where to start or what to say!

Hi Mike, I am new to TT and am tentatively scheduled to have RNY on July 7th. I am nervous and excited as well. I have been looking at before and after pictures, weights, feelings, etc. on here and am a bit overwhelmed. Hopefully everything will work out. Sara
