  1. Mine was sent in on or shortly after 03/19 and I called the Dr on 04/02 to see if they'd heard anything (I was gonna call TriCare) and I found out I'd been approved. My surgery was on 04/26. I didn't have to do the 5 year thing, but I did have to do the Psych consult. I got out of the sleep study even tho I also did have to see the Pulmonologist.
  2. Hi, I am 11 days since surgery. I remember the left sided pain, I remember craving a shower, not being able to stand for long, and I am working my way out of having no energy. But the one thing you have to remember is the "every day it gets better". It really does. I am 99% pain free. I experience a little discomfort occasionally, but nothing like the first few days. Hang in there. I was fortunate, I didn't have any reactions to the medicine. I worked early to wean myself off medicines as I'm the type who doesn't want to be hooked on medicines. I waited 5 days before I got my firs
  3. P.S. I had the Lapband and I guess you had Gastric Bypass? I didn't catch that the first time I read your post. I'm assuming the pain in the left side is the same for the both of us???
  4. I had my surgery on 04/26 (just two days before yours?) and I also noticed the pain in the left side. It's now 10 days since surgery for me and I hardly notice it at all. It's pretty much all gone. Occasionally I'll feel a slight twinge. Hang in there, every day gets better..... Now if I could just continue losing weight
  5. I also have TriCare and it took about 2 weeks for them to approve me. Mine was submitted shortly after my 03/19 appointment and I called the Dr office on 04/02, to ask if they heard anything, and they had already received the approval. I had my surgery on the 26th of April. Good luck to you.
  6. I had my lapband surgery done last Monday, 04/26/10. I'm still sore above my belly button, where the largest incision is, but other than that I'm moving around fine. My Dr. has me on clear liquids until I see him this week for the post op appointment, then to full liquids for 2 wks, followed by soft/mushy/pureed for he following 2 weeks. What I don't understand is that I was seeing a weight loss until 2 days ago. I've not lost any more since. I'm definitely taking in under 1000 calories a day, more like under 500. I can't seem to drink-eat enough, right now, to get it any higher, and
  7. Thanx for the welcome! I'm on day four of the 2 week pre-op diet and already down 6 lbs. It's nice to see it going.
  8. Howdy.... My name is Stormee and I'm currently at Ft. Hood Texas. I'm 43 and an Army wife, an Army mom, and mom to 3 girls. My son (22) deploys to Afganistan in about a week. My hubby deploys during the summer. My girls are 17, 13 and 11. I'm 5'8" and currently 258 lbs. Growing up I wasn't overweight. I was normal. My father apparently didn't feel that way. At about 12 years he started making me do exercises if I weighed over 129 lbs. I don't know what was so special about the number 129 on the scale, but every morning was weigh in and eventually I passed it. His idea of exerci
  9. Hello, I am new to the forum and this is my first post. Will get to introducing myself soon. So I have a question: Does caffiene have any impact in all this? I am having the lapband surgery later this month. I am in the pre-op diet stage and on day 1 of 14. I'm doing fine, but I like my hot-tea and the one i really like has caffiene in it. I was wondering if caffiene really will make a difference - before or after the surgery. I don't drink it in excess, usually less than once a day. Tonite I'm craving real food, and the hot tea helps with the urges and cravings. (No creamer,
