We’ll start with the bad:
My husband totaled our car. He’s ok, though.
Our finances are still a hot mess and we can’t afford to buy or finance another car.
Now we have a great excuse (well, REASON) to ride our bikes literally everywhere.
So I’m averaging about 15-20 miles a day commuting and running daily errands and taking 40-65 mile rides on the weekends. I’m burning roughly 600-800 calories on weekdays and roughly 1000-1500 calories on my weekend rides. I’m trying to look on the bright side. No car payment. No car insurance to pay. No gas to buy. Lots of exercise! Also there is grocery delivery in my area now, so that’s helpful!
I had my 18 month follow up appointment and my main topic to discuss with the dietician was sports nutrition. I’ve been ordered to eat carbs. I’ve been ordered to eat fat. I’ve been ordered to eat constantly. What a mindf@*k after years and years of dieting! It is a huge shift for me, but I’m getting there. Lots of avocados and I make these oatmeal/banana/nut/salt bites to take on my rides. I’m trying to not get into a mentality of “I can eat whatever I want since I’ll burn it off” and remember that food is fuel. Delicious fuel, but fuel nonetheless.
I totally eat a quarter cup of ice cream a couple nights a week though.
Oh and I bought my first fancy bike outfit! (Ignore my messy room. Ha!)
