11 weeks and some before/after photos

Kio

Ok, so I offered, then @CJireh demanded, so here goes... my first photos on TT.  :)  Fair warning, the quality on these is pretty bad - I have always avoided being photographed for obvious reasons, and I take terrible selfies.  There are a couple in here that were taken by Leah, but she's not exactly a star photographer herself.  I think in each of those, I have my eyes closed. -_-

Starting at my highest weight, around 350, about a year ago, here's a very blurry me Leah snapped when I was half asleep.  Included to demonstrate the epic chin(s)!

The one below is from June of this year, at basically the same weight as the one above.  You can see I've done this pixie thing before... however, at that time my head looked a bit like a white bowling ball with a crew cut!  This is a Leah shot, so my eyes are closed, naturally.  I had to use a version of this with my eyes open for an article in our company newsletter, which spotlights random employees at random times and was having a teleworker round - you can imagine how proud I was of sharing it with my 500 coworkers...

And this is me on September 8, 2017 - fresh out of surgery!  I was about 298, and as you can see ... I was pretty high when this was taken!  It was about two hours after surgery, I had already started walking, but I was banging on that morphine button pretty hard and pretty often.  I was also having some kind of bad rash/reaction to the face wash they gave me to use before surgery.

You can also see in this one why I rarely smile big for pictures... it makes me look a like a total lunatic. :)

And now, here is me today!  I'm 259 in this one, with my new shiny haircut and about a football field less chin.

And this one is a bit wider angle, still from today - proud of this one because look, I have a neck!  And the beginning of some shoulders...

That's it for the headshots - but when I hit 100 lbs lost I plan to post some full length shots from the night before surgery and some new shots I'll take when the blessed day arrives.  :)

UPDATED - Below are a couple of shots of me at 6 months -- 225 lbs, 39.something BMI.  Just wanted to keep photos all in one place, for a better record. Again - I totally suck at photography, apologies for that! Also apologies that I didn't clean the mirrors in these photos before I started taking pictures... ;) The first two are just headshots, and I don't see much difference between these and the one above (which is from 11 weeks after surgery).

And here's the full-length version I stole the "headshot" above from...

More updates in 3 months... :)

Thank you!!  :)  I certainly feel a lot younger - able to move and exercise and DO things again.  That first shot of me in the recliner was basically my life last year.  This year is totally a different ball game.  So glad I did this!

Great job !!!  I cant get my pictures to upload it says they are too big or something.

Thanks!  These are just taken with my iphone, but it's an iphone 6s, not one of the later models - so a little lower resolution, maybe that's it?

You're making serious progress! I can really see a striking difference, especially in your newly sharp chin and long neck :) I think you're going to wind up with some stunning cheekbones.

The pixie cut is cute, and I'm sure it'll be a life-saver with the hair loss issue - short with more volume.

Wowzers, Kio! You look SO much healthier in the last picture posted. Quite an accomplishment and you should be very proud of yourself. :)

Pictures like these make me that much more excited about my own surgery.  Thank you for posting them.

Dang! Sorry, Kio. I inadvertently called you Rosy. I had just got done reading and liking one of her posts and had her on my mind, I guess ;)

WOW, @Kio, that is a stunning transformation so far!  You have a great looking chin (single and lovely!) and your neck....wow is all I can say!  The neck and shoulders in the last one are just phenomenal when you compare it to the top ones! Also, I like the hair cut...very becoming!  I will get mine cut short if I start losing it too....don't want to deal with long blonde pieces all over my couch and chair at work and the car etc!

Thanks for sharing....always the inspiration for me! :)  Keep it up and I can't wait to see the before/after (technically the "during" pictures) and I am sure that will be soon because you are SO close to the 100# mark!!!!  :D

BTW, can't believe you had to deal w/ the pain of the surgery along w/ the reaction...ouch!

Wow, just wow.:)  Your weight loss, and the effect of that weight loss on your appearance, are amazing.

You should be a real "skinny minnie" when we have out next Boston area TTF get together in the late spring or summer of next year! :D

These are tremendous progress pics! I have to say, the last one is a completely different person compared to the first.

Thanks, Michael!  I feel like a totally different person, honestly.  I'm still having trouble wrapping my mind around all the changes!

I keep TOUCHING my cheekbones, LOL!  And my collarbones - so many bones I didn't even know I had!  I'm loving how easy the shorter hair is to take care of, but I'll be glad to have it grow a LITTLE bit longer, because I'm dealing with some sticky-uppy issues right now if I don't tame it down with a gel or something.  ;)

It's seriously exciting - you're going to really love the journey.  Even with the issues I have sometimes - still having trouble keeping dense protein down - I don't regret it for a minute.  I just keep waiting for my brain to catch up to the physical changes.

And I never even saw you call me Rosy!  LOL  - No worries!!

Yeah, it was a breakout of epic proportions - I definitely did not appreciate it.  I already have some rosacea, I didn't need that on top of it!  Or under it... or wherever, LOL.

Anyway, thank you!  I'm one of those people who had - have? a real disconnect about how I looked.  When I looked in the mirror at 355 I never saw the person in that top picture.  I was always able to say "It's not really THAT bad" until I looked at a picture of myself... and then I felt horrible.  Now, I sort of feel like stuff is melting off me from the top down!  I still have quite a belly to get through, and the flab is starting to be that "loose skin" everyone dreads... but i have to say, better loose skin than skin full of fat, because at least with loose skin I can walk the dog.

You're going to be posting your own before/after pics soon - you've already lost so much since surgery!  How are you feeling these days?

"Chiseled" is not a word I ever expected anyone to apply to ME!  =D  Thanks!  I feel happy and weird and surprised.  Every day I sort of expect the weight loss to stop and start reversing itself... but so far, so good.  ;)

@Kio  You look wonderful!  What an exciting change in such a short amount of time!  Congratulations!

It's weird... somehow I was convinced I would stall at 270 again, and never lose anything else.  It's super exciting that this just keeps getting better and better... I'm starting to really think I could be one of the success stories!!

I can't get over how slimmer your face and neck are Kio.  That's a pretty dramatic change.

I can't either - it's weird, it's almost like being someone else.  Apparently, the more weight I lose, the more I look like my mom.  That's certainly nothing I ever expected!  ;)

Now I just hope the rest of me hops on the train and starts getting slimmer (pokes at belly) Like right here would be good!

*beams* thank you!  I think it's like I'm starting to look on the outside how I feel inside... I certainly feel amazing after losing so much, that's the best thing of all.

You will be "one of the success stories"!!  Just trust the process and you will be amazed at how you will continue to lose weight.
