It's been 1 year since surgery. I WAS down 70 lbs until surgery on ovarian tumor back in Oct. After surgery I didn't listen and got on the scale after a week post op and had gained 13 lbs. I WAS SHOCKED! I called the Dr and he said it was due to all the fluids and gas they pumped me with. It took longer for me to heal that I thought it would. It took about 3 weeks at least. I eventually lost the 13 and got back to where I was. Which then put me right into the Holidays..... NEED I SAY MO
i have to be at hospital tomorrow at 6:30 am and surgery is at 8 am. They will try to do laparoscopic surgery to drain cyst, then pull out from belly button, then remove right ovary. He will take a look at left ovary and also look into breaking down scar tissue in there from previous surgeries over the years. Should take 1 1/2 hrs, recovery for 2 hrs... Then home. Can start back walking in a week. I will be so ready to get back in a routine and to also be done with all these cramps.
Well, finally got the nerve to go into Dr and book the surgery for my hernia surgery that they told me about in July. So, he send me to get a CT scan just so he knows what he's getting into prior to surgery. WELL, there isn't a hernia at all!!! WHAT? I was shocked. Instead they told me I have a very large cyst on my right ovary. Sent me the same day for blood work and ultrasound. 6.3cm X 5.4cm. Weird thing is, is that I hurt on my left side not my right. They said that was normal due to
It's been a slow process losing...but it's still a loss. That I am greatful! Dr. says he is happy with loss and says losing slower is better anyways. I just don't like it! LOL I went to see him today and I have lost 63 lbs since surgery. I told you it was slow.
I go on Wednesday to have a CT scan on the pelvis and abdomen, because I have a hernia and possible double. YUCK! I had this when I was 3 yrs old as well. But do to the fact I have had many surgeries in the same region, my
Besides the fact that we will all be healthier and leaner has anyone had any incentives from friends or family? My hubby told me that at my 1 year mark if I have gotten to 100 lbs he will give me $1,000 to go blow on whatever I want!!!! I am at 52 lbs now and it's 5 months 1 week. I'm buying a case of laxatives tomorrow. LOL JK I gotta push the protein and the exercise.
5 1/2 Months Out --- 52 lbs down and losing inches! It is slow still, but that is just ME. A month ago I had my metabolism checked and it said it worked at 17%. I will be curious after eating something every three hours (to build metabolism) what it will say after a couple of months. I have to wait to see. Just had blood work done and everything looked great. Thyroid was a little bit low but nothing too crazy. I have been on meds for 17 yrs already. I wonder if when you lose weight, if y
Well, it's been 5 months and 1 week--- I am feeling great and finally started an exercise program! WOOHOO! I am walking 4 days a week and doing activities in the pool. I feel silly, but who cares, I do them when know one is home. The scale is starting to move again. I am doing protein shakes again every am and feel full after drinking them. I am trying to find new foods so I don't get quite so bored. It's going well. Shrimp is my new one and it has tons of protein!!!
I went to see
I am five months out today and down 48 lbs. I was down 51 lbs, but gained some back. I am eating 1200 calories per day with plenty of protein and only doing protein shakes maybe twice a week upon my dieticians request. I am having lower abdominal pains...near groin area. It feels swollen and bloated, and when I cough or sneeze it feels like it's ripping. I have had numerous surgeries in that region. double hernia when I was 3, 2 c sections, partial hysterectomy. Not sure what is going on,
It's been 16 weeks and I am feeling so good. I am sleeping better, have way more energy and just overall looking better. My clothes are starting to really fall off me. I started at 307 and am now down to 263 -----> Drum roll please..... 44 lbs GONE!!! WOOHOO!!!
I am really surprised at how much I am sticking with my food program. SHOCKED actually! I was a huge chips and dips girl and SWEETS addict. Don't get me wrong, I will have a few chips here and there when we do Mexican f
It's been 3 months, 2 weeks since revision surgery and I am down 40.4 lbs. YAY! Crossing my legs, my pjs are falling off, shirts are getting way more low cut, but I am not buying anything. LOL I will just walk around like a floozie!
Typical Day at 3 months out on my eating:
coffee with cream and raw sugar
100 cal whole grain english muffin
laughing cow cheese triangle
strawberries- 1 cup
pickle or low cal po
I went in this am for my monthly visit with Elly...my nutritionist/dietician fasting to take the metabolic test. It took 10 minutes to breathe into this tube thing, she turned off the light, small lamp on with calming music and left me to breathe, LOL After 10 minutes she came in and shared the results with me. It said my metabolism is very slow...only working at 17%. YUCK! I got this really cool print out to bring home that has all kinds of numbers on it. It showed I should be eating any
It was Mother's Day Weekend and I never felt cheated. It was a busy weekend for sure, dinner Friday night for MIL. I had 1/2 chicken enchilada, pinto beans, guacamole and 3 chips...later I had 2 bites of cheesecake and 2 chocolate covered strawberries. Saturday was my BFF's graduation from college and I did ok considering. I had sausage with BBQ sauce, veggies with ranch dip, 2 bites of her cake, and 2 screwdrivers. YUM! I had heard that you get tipsier quicker and boy are they right. I was
Is there such a thing as a weight loss timeline with WLS? I am just curious how I am doing compared to others. I know I can look at some peoples results, but I want to see others who are at the same stage as I am. Week 11, weight around the same as mine, etc etc.
Don't get me wrong, I am truly happy at my loss. It's coming off slow, but I look at it in the way that it will last because I am learning as I go what to do and what not to do. I have already seen that by me cutting out sodas
At week 11 I feel as though I have trained my mind to eat the right things and choose wisely. I'm actually shocked I eat so well now. I am 43, married mother of two teens and it's hard to not just go through every drive thru all the time. But, I have done really good for the most part. My weaknesses before surgery were sweets and chips and dips. I don't really eat any of that anymore. When I have sweets I will either have graham crackers with peanut butter or laughing cow chocolate at 100
Today I went on a walk with a friend for 3 miles. Felt great!! Loving all these apps to help keep me on track. My fitness pal and map my walk and also love my fitbit bracelet.
Found a new favorite snack that dietician recommended ..... Grahamn crackers with peanut butter. Yummy!!!!!
Not a lot to say tonight, just checking in.
10 Weeks Out from revision surgery: Band to sleeve...
Weight lost 30 lbs
Neck lost 2 inches
Waist lost 4 inches
Hips lost 1 inch
I didn't measure anywhere else. Thighs are smaller for sure.
I am trying to stay on track with what my dietician wants me to do. Eating more foods and not so many protein shakes. I will still do the shakes, but only about 3-4 days a week for breakfasts. Had one this am and it was yummy!!!
I have become a bit obsess
Today is 9 1/2 weeks (NO NOT LIKE THE MOVIE) Don't want hubby getting any ideas!
I went to see the dietician/nutritionist today and lost another 2 lbs. Total of 30 lbs. ---FINALLY hit the 30 mark!!! WOOHOO!! We talked about everything today, MFP, FITBIT, Foods, working out etc. I told her I as confused on my calorie intake. She did some figures plugging in height, weight and me not doing much for workouts yet. She has told me to stop drinking so many protein shakes that is for wee
Well, tonight we went to my in laws and they had a fish fry, with French fries, hush puppies, fish, cole slaw and cake. Ughhhh.. Shoot me!!!
This is what I ate: not good but honest on what I ate.
1/2 piece of fish
1 French fry
1 hush puppy
AND a piece of carrot cake ..... I suck!!!
Back to the drawing board tomorrow am.
Week 9...... Down 28 lbs after refocusing this week.
Well, as hard as it was to hear lots of opinions on here, I listened! On Monday this week (7th) I started with my fitness pal and logging everything I had. I pushed the protein big time!!! But also realized how many carbs are in beans and cheese. Ughhhh!! But I did it all week with no crackers, no pita chips and no popcorn. These are things I had during my week.
Breakfast: (1) of the following
1 egg, 1/4 c turkey crumble
This am I joined my fitness pal and also tracked everything but a piece of gum for today. With my weight and such it tells me to eat 1,900 cals a day. But that's too much. We also know we can't eat that much anyways.
So my total at the end of today was 1,075. I didn't have any crackers, pita chips or popcorn. I did notice that beans, cheese and yogurt all have a lot of carbs. So now I'm wondering should I not eat that either?
I guess I'm struggling with just not knowing what to eat
It's been 8 weeks since surgery and I have lost 24 lbs. I have been at this weight since week 3. So, basically in the past 5 weeks I have stayed the same, which I guess is better than gaining. But, not sure why I'm not losing anymore. I don't overeat as you can't with the sleeve. Here is a typical day in the life of Tildy.
1 cup of coffee with 2 tsp sugar and 0 fat powder creamer
1 skim milk and vanilla protein shake = 32 Grams protein
banana with 2 tsp pea
I have been at a stall for 2 weeks now and getting bummed that I wont lose anymore. I know I will, but when? I am eating pretty good, but not getting in my shakes like I should. So, I started back up today. I am down 24 lbs.
I will be honest.... I am not walking yet either. I SUCK!
OK, so I re read everyones suggestions on what to eat. As well as doing some low carb searching too. Here is what I have gotten at the store.
3 week post op:
eggs (hard boiled, scrambled, egg salad with low fat mayo)
extra lean ground beef (taco meat, spaghetti meat no noodles, 1/2 hamburger patty, chili)
bean soup mix that I will add a tiny bit of ham pieces too
SF jello and SF pudding for that something sweet
Well, I am getting slapped in the face with many opinions on what I am eating. It's a tough thing to swallow. LOL No pun intended. I posted that I am stuck in weight loss already at 3 weeks out. But, I am only eating what is on my sheets that dietician and Dr gave to me. You would think that was ok RIGHT? Apparently not. I asked for help so I have to suck it up and listen to what the professionals are saying. They have been through this not me.
I am not to eat any carbs!!!! LOAD
