I am a 44-year old mother of an amazing 13 year old son and step mom to an equally amazing 20 year old daughter. I am wife to an amazing husband who is in law enforcement and who is incredibly supportive of every single weightloss program I have tried over the last 12 years, and is so incredibly supportive of this decision to change via surgery! I work full time in the health care industry as a medical assistant and office manager to a General Surgeon.  I have been overweight most of my adult life, struggling to lose weight for as long as I can remember.  I have tried every "diet" on the market and failed. They would work for a while, but then the weight came right back.  

I love spending time with my family and friends. My sister is my best friend and confidant. The older I get the more I cherish family and value every moment with them.  I am a strong Christian woman who has dedicated my life to Christ and live for serving Him in some capacity.

I like my alone time, but do enjoy gathering with friends/family. I live near the beach and enjoy taking in the seabreeze and ocean waters when I can (although NOT in a bathing suit...but that won't be for long.)  I love to go on cruises and love the Bahamas.

I have toyed with the idea of bariatric surgery for years but the thought has always ultimately terrified me. I have heard horror stories in the past that made me shut out any information anyone was willing to share with me, until I met the amazing team at St. Vincent's Bariatrics/ North Florida Bariatrics in Jacksonville, Florida. Their seminars and willingness to answer questions and provide support and guidance helped me make an educated decision to move forward with the Roux-en Y surgery. My date is February 15th! I am excited and nervous and anxious and thrilled to finally see a light at the end of the tunnel.  

I am looking forward to sharing experiences and finding support and inspiration along the way. I am ready for my journey.
