Aug 24th 2011 (Wednesday)
-    I had to be at the hospital at 8am for a 10am surgery
o    As soon as I arrived an checked in I was taken back to a waiting room where my Iv and fluids were started – I was only in this room for about 30 minutes before they rolled me in the surgery – I remember them putting the oxygen mask on me and saying that I would be out…..the next thing that I remember was waking up in the recovery room – very sore, thirsty and tired. I was told that they surgery went great, it only took about 2.5 hours and once I was completely awake they took me to my room. (which it was about 5pm)
o    The worst part was that I was not aloud to have water until the surgeon came in to check on me – that was about another 30 minutes or so??
o    He also told me that the more I get up and move around the better I would feel and the faster he could release me!
o    I was up walking around the hospital floor that night, I had my mother stay in the hospital room with me to help me get in and out of the bed (so I could go to the bathroom)
o    The next day (Thursday) was good they brought me water – tea – lemonade – coffee – sugar free jello and popsicles! I was walking all around the hospital floor – it was painful but I had to do it if I wanted to go home!
o    That night (Thursday) was a long night as I could not sleep – they took the morphine drip out at 10pm and I got a new roommate at 1am so I was awake and in pain that night.
o    The next morning (Friday) I was up and walking around the flood at 4am – the nurses were cheering me on and said that they would make sure that my surgeon knew how well I was doing so that I could go home that morning instead of that night!
    The PA was in at 6 am and he seen me walking around an asked if I would please come back to my room so he could examine me and release me!! I could not get back to my room fast enough!
    I was so happy to be released and on my way home!
-    I only took my pain medicine at night to help me fall asleep the first two nights at home and I was good to go after that!
-    It took me two weeks before I could sleep on my stomach – the only way I get a good sleep!

Sept 6th 2011 – Weight 236.4!!!! (Total loss of 55.6 lbs)
-    Two Week Follow Up! The PA removed my steri strips and said that my battle wounds looked great! And I had lost 17 pounds in two weeks!
