About Me

I was born and raised in Northeastern PA. I joined the Marine Corps in 1983, did my 4 years and got out. I have two children a daughter and son, who are adults now. I have worked for the federal government for 32 years and am currently employed with the U. S. Naval Observatory in Washington, DC.
I have been overweight for at least the past 20 years. My turning point was when my diabetes, blood pressure and weight were out of control. I knew I had to do something or I wasn't going to live very long. My dad passed away from a massive heart attack at the age of 58, due to high blood pressure and uncontrolled diabetes.
