Thanks Cinwa...I will be back online to update everything soon...just so busy! Hugs everyone!
I started this journey at 228 lbs. I had high blood pressure, diabetes (un managed with insuline), high cholesterol. I had just lost 10 lbs because I had been taking Byetta a diabetic medicine that often helps people lose some weight while helping them manage their blood sugar. So my highest was 238. 6 years ago I weighed 230 and lost 55. I weighed 175 and felt really good. So I got out of an unsatisfying relationship, went back to school and finished my BSW and then immediately got my Masters in Social Work. Along with my hard work came back all my weight and 8 lbs for good measure. During that time I had decided to try the relationship again, only to find out that it wasnt for me. So in October 2010 I left him, yet again. Big, fat, unhealthy...but happy to live just with my daughter. Then my health was just getting the better of me and my doctor recommended gastric bypass surgery. I explained that I had asked for this procedure years ago and he explained that I didnt have the right BMI but now I had the co-mobities. So, in October I also began the weight loss journey. The beginning of the new me. I weighed in at 228 and six months later hit the table at 208. I lost lots of weight the first two weeks...it was so strange. I am writing this at 3 months out and it is all a blur it happens so fast. So, if you plan on remembering things, WRITE it down. Take pictures. I now wear large or medium tops and size 12 pants. I have some tight size 14 and some lose size 10. Plan on your body to look different than when you wore these same sizes when you were younger, because I have lost muscle. My hair...ahhhh my hair. It comes out all over the place. I hate protien shakes and I try hard to get in all the water. I hate my vitamins too. ugh, I am a bad example of a perfect patient that I thought I would be. So be kind to yourself if you arent perfect. Just try your best, dont compare yourself to others and you will do just fine! Good luck my friends in weight loss.
