About Me
Hi All,
I started the process of having GBPS in January 2011. I've been overweight since I was a little kid. A few years ago, at my heaviest, I found out that I had insulin intolerence and genetics was not on my side. I got on the appropriate medication and started for the umpteenth time a low carb meal and expercise plan. Low and behold it was working and I was able to lose 130lbs in a year on my own. Then the plateau began and for over a year and a half. I was still able to keep most of the weight off but gained about 15lbs back. It was very frustrating to know what I wanted to do and then run into this plateau as well as knee and back issues. So, gastric bypass was back on the table as an option (I had tried to have it in 2002 and 2007 but was denied both times by insurance). With the help of some family members, I am now on my way to having surgery! I hope to meet many more of you on here and look forward to offering support and getting support as well. Can't wait!
