Brugge Babe Vim
Hej Brugge Babe Gwen!
Thank you for the idea! As usual, you are our clever Dillemans leader!
Well, hello folks! I am Brugge Babe Vim
If you are contemplating surgery with Dr. Dillemans I cannot recommend him enough - he is an absolutely marvellous, honest, technical and brilliant surgeon! I would do it all over again if I had to (with him of course!)!
Blowing my own trumpet! Below are links to my own threads (and others' posts) relating specifically to Dr. Dillemans impact on my surgery. I hope they can be of help to you.
Also, if you click under Groups, there is a "Dillemans" or BruggeBabe group...
Remember to look under Europe - "Nutrition" as there are a few differences with the US as to what is available in our shops.
Park Hotel, Brugge, Belgium
WHAT TO EXPECT - in graphic details! - this describes my time in Bruges around the surgery and recovery
Testing my pouch - ALARMING results! - how Dr. Dillemans' pouch enables us to eat differently in Europe vs US.
Best wishes!
Vim

Feeling GREAT
Hello girls,
Here I come..one more Brugge/Dille baby! I have not written in a while, so my appologise for that. My journey has been GREAT so far. I am 5 months post-op and I am down 30kg which is about 66 pounds...I came down to 64kg now which is about 140 pounds...I feel sooooo good and to be honest I didnt have any problems whatsoever...also my skin is quite good, maybe because I exercise regularly or maybe because I am a bit younger so it is quite elastic. I am very close to my weight goal (I want to be around 59 kg or 130 pounds). I am 170cm tall.
With one word I feel Amazing and I am so grateful to Dr Dillemans and to all of you for your support!
Hugs,
Sunny

Hello fellow Brugge Babes....
Hi,
My name is Noonie and i had my surgery done on 30-07-08 by the amazing Dr Dillemans. I have to say this man is a true gentleman and so down to earth. I am so glad that i decided to go to Belgium for my procedure.
I am now 5 weeks post op and doing well, i have lost 33.5lbs and my clothes are getting very loose which is great!!!!
Overall i thought the pain to be minimal post op the only pain that lingered was a left sided stabbing pain which i believe to be normal and only happens to some people but this bothered me for 4 weeks it was not constant but every now and then i would experience a sharp jab that would indeed take my breath away!!! But thankfully all gone now.
I found there to be alot of mental training to do for the first few weeks i wanted food, i missed food and even though i could not eat it i still craved it, this was then followed by a no appeptite phase where everything i ate made me feel sick and nothing appeptised me. This phase seems to be over now thank god and i am now experimenting with new foods which is fun. I have had no adverse effects yet fingers crossed!!!
I find the toughest thing is to drink 2 litres of water i struggle with this every day normally it would not have been a problem as i used to love big long drinks but when you have to take small sips it take a long time to drink 2 litres!!!
Anyway i am looking forward to the rest of my journey and for anyone pondering over going to Belgium as i did i say go for it you wont be disappointed.
Lots of Luv
Noonie X

Hey Kim
You're done really really well so far - 5 stone is not be sneezed at that's for sure!
Every person is different, each of us loose at different speeds and end up with a different result.
What is your daily diet like? I think the real key to me losing quite quickly was the fact that I completely cut all carbs out for the first year - do you eat them?
What sort of exercise routine have you got into?
We're all here to support you - if you need any help pls feel free to pm me.
;o)
