Ask your doc for an antidepressant. You are grieving - food is dead to you now - I also got mad after awhile. I was angry because at the county fair, I couldn't eat anything they were having! I wanted it all, of course: turkey drumsticks, cotton candy, cheese curds, french fries, hot dogs, etc. etc. Thank God for the surgery, or I would have eaten my way thru the fair!
I continued to cook for my husband, AND for my elderly parents. Once I could have soft stuff, I still didn't eat what they were having unless there were mashed potatoes available.
Even when I can eat most things now, I only eat the protein, and maybe a bite or two of the other stuff. We eat our protein FIRST - to be sure we get it in. THEN the other stuff, if there is still room.
All the emotional ups and down, and second-guessing yourself - completely normal.
Love,
Rose
