Hi and welcome to TT
I am relatively new here too and also pre op, hoping for mine round about the same time as yourself if not sooner. I have heard of Shaw Somers and also seen him on TV, he is also part of a team on another site I am with (Anne Diamond's Buddypower) I wish you well. For me the waiting seems endless and at the moment it is all consuming my thoughts, I eat, breath and sleep the coming event! Loads of info here and they are very friendly.

HI Nichola
Welcome to the forum. From what I hear Shaw Summers is absolutely brilliant - I had a consultation with him a couple of years ago but ended up going to Belgium instead - quite simply because it was cheaper.
I wish you all the luck in the world - it's a fabulous journey and one I would do all over again!
Don't forget to add your stats onto your signature - we'd love to see your progress.

HI thank you for your kind words. Have you been to see a consultant at the hospital yet for the gastric bypass or are you still waiting for your GP to refer you to one?
I saw my consultant in Dec and was told yes i can have the op and it would be around Easter time and i was also told they would go to the PCT to get funding. I was lucky by the sound of things as i dont have to worry about losing weight before hand as he was more concerned that a had three meals a day and said if i put on weight doing this so be it!! not that i want to put any more weight on. But i do believe i will have to do a pre-op diet a 1/2 weeks before hand to shrink my liver.
Would love to hear from you again
Nichola xx
