Hej Carl,
Nice talking "live"
1. what happens if you DO eat/drink at the same time
if you are eating a "main meal", you will flush away any possible nutrients with the liquid and also not retain the feeling of satisfaction from being "full" after your meal. The fullness gives you the contentment your body (and you) need to keep fuelled for the next few hours.
However, if you are having ONE biscuit with a cup of tea/coffee, neither the drink nor the biscuit are "nutritional" and that's fairly ok. The odd times are ok, but not as a habit.

2. Why cant you down a chug water like a parched camel ..... why only a sip or two?
If you are drinking say half an hour after food, your pouch is still somewhat "full" from the meal and therefore there is very little space for the drink to sit and stay. It takes times to send the pouch content down the line and drinks are no exception. Your body needs the time to absorb the water coming down the tube and traffic jams happen when there is a red light at the end.

I find that one day I am "starving" and cannot drink (makes it all floaty in there) bu ton the other hand, the next day I may be "living" on various thicknesses of liquid, e.g. yoghurt, broth/soup, fruit juices/smoothies and water... Seems to suit my temperament and lavatory motions!

The process happens naturally, without you having to do too much about it. A little like a new sexual partner. You get the hang of what you need to do, what you want to do and then what your partner has to say about it. It gets better through experience and time...

Fire away - questions ALWAYS welcome!
Go and drink a small glass of water NOW!
Cheers!
Vim

Now I'm having difficulty in drinking! Never having been an alcoholic before, I just find "guzzling" extremely difficult! I have a handy size by me at all time but only manage, with great effort, half the daily recommended water intake per 24 hours. I am concerned about becoming dehydrated. I feel lightheaded, unable to eat for 3/4 of the day and then I get really hungry in the late afternoon/evening. Surprisingly, I find I am able to eat and retain a large quantity, large in relation to my new pouch... Not complaining, just noticing... At 15 days out, today has been a dip in my comfort. I feel cold, tired, light headed, slightly "green" but tomorrow is another day...
Hi, reading your thread reminds me of me. I think I am doing good with the liquid until at the end of the day and I add it all up and boom not enough I am now light headed to the point of thinking I might me going down when standing. I find I am not hungry in the morning or afternoon so I have to force myself to eat but by evening I AM hungry and have to watch myself for not grazing. Better get going and sip, sip, sip,,,,everyday is like a game to see how close I will come to getting all my liquid in. Good Luck

Hej Dawn!
Well, at 15 weeks I feel a whole lot better - I lacked water and since I've increased my intake, the lightheadedness has dropped - thankfully!
My best guage for my water intake is the colour of my urine - the close to colourless, the most perfect!
Keep resting, sipping and resting to build up your strength - you'll find it varies according to the weeks. This week I have felt so sleepy!
Cheers,
Vim
