Park Hotel, Brugge, Belgium
Hello Friends!
Through Healthcare-Direct we were allocated the Park Hotel. Here are my first reactions.
My husband and I are at the Park Hotel (room 112)!
Two large single beds together (relatively comfortable), large bathroom with plenty of space, easy bathtub (floor level, just lift your foot a little to easily get in), with hand shower, single washbasin with plenty of surface. Small fridge, decent cupboard space (a few too few hangers), large mirrors! Good table and 3 armchairs, good lighting, tv with English channels. Trouser press, ample storage, extra pillows. Several sockets (remember to bring your adapter!)
Possibility of having room breakfast (at supplement) and definitely free post surgery room service upon your return from the hospital. Ask the receptionist for the Post Op menu. Not brilliant but will do until we get ourselves sorted. (Selection of soups, fruit juices, pureed fruit, snacks (rice pudding, yoghurt), and light toast). Coffee/tea making facilities in the room.
If you have a laptop, bring it and ask each day for a voucher for free internet access. Otherwise there is a paying computer in the lobby.
The hotel is used by many British and Welsh tours for the elderly. Several Dillemans patients...
Bang in the centre of town, near everything and distant enough too.
Little newsagents round the corner (papers are expensive), good restaurants across the hotel who, if you ask nicely, may well assist by pureeing your food (though Hairy will have do the main eating as portions are generally huge!).
Fire away if you have any questions! (I have posted this same post under "Europe" as well as several of the Irish Dillemans patients use this same hotel)
Cheers!
