the Dr. or nurse for that matter should of told you exactly what you can/can not eat when on the pre-op liquid diet. I have seen extremes and I just do not understand why there isn't a concrete set of do's and dont's when it comes to this. It is left up to Dr. discretion, and to me that is just wrong. Some will say you can eat/drink soups and salads, others you have to slurp them awful protein drinks and that is it, too much variance in my opinion...

I AM STARVING! Ok, now that I got that out I completely feel your pain! I am on day 5 and I'm hungry. I get Carnation instant breakfast, yogurt smoothies, Boost, Ensure, SF jello, SF popsicles, broth...I have not made a full day with out having something solid and I am averaging 500 calories and have lost 14 pounds since last Wednesday...I wish I could have tomato soup at least it would feel like I was eating! Good luck making it through!
