Today, I am 12 days - Post Op. I would say i have a normal pain tolerance... I spent two nights in the hospital, so felt NO PAIN there :-) After coming home, the pain was really not too unbearable. I was given liquid Loritab, and I used it only at night to help me get a good nights rest. Haven't had to take any pain meds since Post Op Day 7. I can honestly say, it was MUCH less than I expected. Day 10 has been my worst day, but yesterday and today, I feel like a new person. Good Luck to you!

The pain the first few days was bad; but worse was the dry heaves I had. Constant dry heaves for 3 days; nothing they gave me controlled it. Trying to walk the halls carrying the pink throw up pan because every few steps I was heaving was the pits. Other than that it wasn't so bad.

Hi, I just had my surgery Tuesday and was discharged from the hospital today. Honestly, Tuesday I felt the worst pain that I have ever felt in my life. However, It was tolerable, they gave me a lot of pain meds. and I got through it. I'm also 21 years old and as far as pain goes, I haven't had too much experience. In addition to that, when my surgeon opperated He found a hernia and repaired that too which may have played a role in it. Coming home today though I was feeling pretty good and was attempting to go without pain meds. Right before laying down for the night I gave in and took some though because I couldn't sleep at the hospital and want to enjoy a night in my own bed! And I will say, although I was in a decent amount of pain, I managed it and I"m looking forward to what's ahead of me. I'm not hungry at all right now. earlier my stomcah was growling at me so I had a few oz. of jello which took care of that but otherwise I'm learning my body's cues and I'm so excited about losing weight in the future, even if only for my health. The other stuff that comes along with it is an added benefit and when I think about my future, even yesterday when i was sore, it didn't seem to hit me much.
Always Remember, the will of God will never take you where his grace won't protect you.

I am 4 days post op, and I have to say the pain is getting better as more days go by. I have a bad acid reflux feeling everytime I drink something, and it is a bit uncomfortable to sleep; but other than that I'm not too bad. I take the pain meds sent home with me about twice a day, but I take that mainly because of the chest pain. My stomach doesn't feel so bad.

I'm day 4 post op.  To be completely honest I was really blind sided by the amount of pain I had.   I never thought passing gas would be such a joyful experience, I finally passed some this morning and my belly is now doing much better.  Getting in and out of bed has been a very painful experience.  Im relying on everyone's comments " that it gets better every day".  In the hospital the morphin had a minimal effect on my pain, they switched me to something stronger but it made me sick.   I'm glad to be home and getting rest so I can continue to mend!!!
Goal 1 - 20 lb loss. -  April 4th.    Woo hoo
Goal 2 - 170----Soooooo close
