Not all B12 is created equal babe - the majority of supplements come in the form of cyanocobalamin B12 - the better form is methylcobalamin. This is a good read: http://www.dadamo.com/B2blogs/blogs/index.php/2004/02/07/cyanocobalamin-versus-methylcobalamin?blog=27
I started on 1,000mcg as cyanocobalamin (sublingual) and my numbers went down the pan quick. I decided to try methl-B12 before going down the road of shots and it worked well.
I use Jarrows - cheapest is from vitacost - I use this one (1 a week): http://www.vitacost.com/Jarrow-Formulas-Methyl-B-12-5000-mcg-60-Lozenges
GNC stock Jarrow 1,000mcg lozenge: http://www.gnc.com/p...926275&kwCatId=
Seriously though - this is something you need to see your doc about soon. I went down the road of peripheral neuropathy and I wouldn't wish it on my worse enemy.

But it's worth pointing out that intrinsic factor (and/or decreased gastric acid secretion) is essential for the uptake of vitamin B12 in a bypassed patient. Intrinsic factor secreting parietal cells are located in the stomach lining - without that, we run the risk of B12 deficiency unless we take on B12 in another form - sublingually, nasal spray, patch or injection.
