Hi All!

I know this is only my 2nd post, but I am looking for some dress casual clothing.  I have been off work for 2 years. Yesterday I got a call to start a job either next week or the following (depending on when my background check comes back). I don't have a lot of money since I've been unemployed, but will try to get some money if anyone has anything they'd like to sell. I'm guessing I probably need a 20. I've lost about 20 lbs. since my surgery and was wearing a 22 at the time. If anyone can help, please let me know. Thank you for your help!

Hi cherie

I have two bags of clothes most size 20 to 22. There are at least four pairs of jeans, dress shirts, sweaters, slacks....

I'm in California but if you pay for shipping, I can send them to you by ground....

I'm not sure what the deal is with the thrift shops around here. Either a lot of people go there, or they just don't have stuff in my size. I think I've been about 5 times since I've had my surgery and haven't found one thing. Thanks for the idea though.

Oh that sucks!!  So many people have so much luck with thirft stores on this forum.  I never bought there I always went to the $5 store, but when I was looking for maternity cloths I went the Goodwill and got cheap good dress clothes for work.

The thrift shops in my town suck.I tend to go to some in nearby bigger cities (at least "big" for this area) But it is still a hit or miss. There are a lot of consignment shops around, but they tend to be a little more pricey than a thrift store.

There is always Walmart/Kmart. Only buy just enough, and do laundry frequently. After all, you will not be in the clothes for long. As you shrink, you might be able to find more things at thrift stores.

Another idea is FreeCycle. I know in my area clothes is a common thing that is posted as needed and available.

Where in Illinois. I am in Il 50 miles south of chicago, I have some clothes and as well they have a store called clothes mentor. Thrift store for plus size and they are not as cheap as a regular thrift but you can find items on their clearance for reasonable prices!!

So true about the consignment shops!
In my area, there are no large sizes at all, as if being fat is not allowed!
I was sweetly told by a shop owner that although she would love to have taken my things there to sell, there was no buyer client for those large sizes in her store.
So, I am now partaking in consignment shopping like a kid in the candy store!
But I had to donate all my "fat" clothes to charity and I was lucky that my cousin is large-like a 2x and 3x and she was very, very appreciative of the nicest things that I sent to her.
