One more time, please. 5 kg equal ?? in pounds. Surprised the doc is asking you to stop taking vitamins. Oh yeah, you're a VS not GBS. Then that makes sense. So wh at causes liver enzymes to be elevated?

I hear you on the height thing. I was 5'6 all of my adult life and now they've got me down as 5'4"!! I'm not going to obsess about it either but I put myself down as 5'5"!

Good to hear you're doing well. I'm not counting calories now, but I SHOULD!! Cookies add up very quickly. (LOL)

Sorry, I get too lazy to always do the converstion from metric to American -- but 1kg is 2.2 lb -- so 5 kg is 11 lb. Doc is only saying I should take vitamins less often, as my levels are all high-normal or high, best to just have them more normal-normal in her opinion. I DO count calories (obsessively since age 13 <_< ), so I'm not likely to stop. I didn't argue with her, but she thinks I shouldn't calorie-count because I should just be eating a good, balanced diet (they didn't want me to count calories ever -- yeah, like ask me to stop breathing while you're at it LOL). Meh, I can count all I want, I will just not make a fuss about it. ;)

She thinks medications may be causing the liver enzymes -- also, it's not unusual to have idiopathic elevations from time to time, especially for women. So that's why we'll remeasure again and see if it resolves on its own.

Cookies are not my downfall...but dark chocolate is! LOL. Must be good... :cool:

You got me thinking with the lost height thing -- how's your posture been? As we get older, we expect to see some compression in the disks in the spine, but we also see increased curvature as we slouch, lose strength in our shoulders and back, and see some age-related degeneration.

Doing some strength training the balance the back, chest and shoulders may give you back a bit of that height, and there are a number of yoga poses that contribute to the decompression and straightening of the spine. I spend most of my day vulturing in front of a computer and my family has a strong history of kyphosis, so it's definitely an issue for me...! Thanks for the reminder to check my posture. ;)

Yeah, my posture sucks, I also vulture over the computer a lot during the day. Sigh. But I didn't vulture myself out of a cm in a year -- it's pretty much my less-fat feet, which weren't wide-fat, they were tall-fat, if that makes any sense. :D And now they're more or less normal-fat LOL. But I DO need to pay some serious attention to my crap posture...! I do some gym machines that are meant to help, but the best thing I've ever done for it before was Alexander Technique and/or Pilates. Me and Yoga aren't the best of friends...but I do need to try it again...

Oh, yes! I keep meaning to learn more about Alexander Technique -- I know several folks who swear by it for everything from improving their trumpet playing to getting their taxes done on time. Okay, maybe not that broad a spectrum, but close.

I'm about 5'5 but I have scoliosis so I'm sure I'm a wee bit taller than that for reals. And yeah, except for holidays and special occasions, I religiously count calories. If I don't, I feel out of control. I hate that. :unsure:

So anyone who's been following my GRIPPING tale of WLS will undoubtedly recall that I had a sorta semi-goal of getting under 75kg, because the elevators in my building had a capacity of "10 people or 750 kgs" -- meaning, the average weight would be 75 kg. I figured once I got below that, no one could blame ME if the elevator crashed down.

So today I get in the new elevators (they took out those previous ones, which were very old and had a door you had to open to get in) and it now has a capacity of "10 people or 800 kgs" -- so I could weigh anything under 80 and still be okay. Hmph. NOW they lower their standards?

Some other American carrying at least 10kg of extra weight is free to ride the elevator with me, though. 8-)

And I'd go in an elevator with ya but I can't guarantee the whole thing wouldn't come plumetting down the shaft... :lol:
